4 games, 4 wins, 33 goals! ⚽🔥

Our first 100% pre season ever (we think?) as we go into the new Euro Soccer Long Eaton Sunday League season looking strong! Wins against Beeston Albion FC, Sherwin Athletic, Ashfield Athletic FC, and saw us test out new players and comtinue to work towards building our best team in a long time.

Shout outs to the continuously excellent Corey Newman and Alex Neilson, who continued to show why they were such important signings last season, partnering up brilliantly with the equally brilliant OG .

Meanwhile, new signing .beam30 was pre season's top scorer with two hattricks in 3 games, whilst new keeper Dale, and new midfield maestros Chris Neilson and also shone. We could probably shout out every single player who represented us and showed us that we could be in for a very exciting season!

Man of the Match: Tyler Beaman

You've seen the pictures, now see the report! The Red Sox ended pre season with a 100% record and our biggest win, beating (sorry lads, we've got to post it!)
Red Sox were dominant throughout, but it was the opposition who took the lead in this one; we'll spare brandon.ground a description of the goal... 👀 Yet soon we found out way through, with Tyler beating the line multiple times in the first half, bagging a well-deserved hattrick, the third of which was handily filmed on the sides, whilst Owen clinically scored on the rebound of another chance from Tyler, as we went 4-1 up at the break!

The second half saw us run rampant. It was great to see the return of OG . Meanwhile on the other end of the spectrum, debutante Chris Neilson was a standout throughout, bagging a debut goal in spectacular fashion, just after a classic Jani Knott finish from another expert ball in from Corey Newman. Ewan was hooked at half time on 45 minutes sleep, but we allowed the skipper to go up top at the end, to which he responded with an incredulous hattrick that he won't shut up about. Both Neilson brothers ended up on the score sheet, when Alex dispatched a penalty at the death to round off our pre season in style.

Man of the Match: Owen Thatcher

The Red Sox completed their penultimate pre season match with another well-deserved victory against a competitive Ashfield Athletic FC. The Red Sox were much changed with plenty away this week, but it was the familiar combo of Neilson and Owen who got us underway, with Neilson supplying Owen with two brilliant finishes, before some more great work gave Adam a well-taken finish. Before the half ended, Neilson lashed in a trademark thunderbastard to put us comfortably in front in the break.
Ashfield came out stronger in the second half as the heat and numbers seemed to catch us a bit. A speculative offside decision flagged away by the ref took away our clean sheet, but we kept our foot on the pedal, as trialists Eddie and Tyler P both bagged, before a cheeky flick from close range from Jani put the icing on the cake.

Penultimate match of pre-season as we return to Jacksdale and host Ashfield Athletic FC. Ashfield have had a solid pre season since their name change from ATP, but previous results against them have gone out way - can we make it 3 wins out of 3?

Man of the Match: (again allez allez)

The Red Sox hosted a very competitive Sherwin Athletic at the Dale Club on Sunday, making it 2 wins out of 2 in pre-season so far! A solid start was rewarded after a brilliant Corey Newman set piece was flicked on by , before the returning Owen stabbed home. Before we knew it, 1 became 4 as two brilliant finishes by Tyler and a rifled strike from Owen had us 4-0 up at the break!

Sherwin came out a much more competitive side in the second, earning and dispatching a penalty, before Tyler drove in low from the edge of the box to restore our 4 goal advance and get his hattrick. Another well taken finish from Sherwin made us up our game again, with Neilson latching onto a superb ball from Corey and heading past the keeper to round of the scoring.

Second friendly incoming as we face Derby Tavs side Sherwin Athletic. Sherwin had a mixed season, but reached a quarter and a semi in their cups, so will be well up for it, as we look to continue from our dominant win two weeks ago.

Man of the Match: Lewis Craig

A fantastic start to pre-season as the Red Sox ran riot in a clinical second half display that saw off a decent Beeston Albion FC from the EMPAL. A solid first half saw goals from the skipper Ewan's deflected shot, debutant Tyler's good work not giving up on his saved effort, and Adam Ponting's trademark heading. A brilliant ball and expert finish saw us pegged back to 3-1 as we went into the break leading.

The second half saw a glut of goals, as Neilson started the way he left off with 4 expert rockets, before a sidewinding volley saw Corey open his account for the club, whilst another debutant in Lewis C opened his account following another bulldozing run. Whilst a mix up from an otherwise solid defence gifted Beeston one back, Tyler scored our last goal with a lovely run and a tidy finish at a speculative angle.

Pre-season begins! On Sunday we return to our new home pitch of Rutland Sports Park as we face our succeeding tenants at Wollaton FC in Beeston Albion FC. Some old and new faces kitting up this weekend as we look to start things off with a win!
