A reminder that tomorrow evening we’re heading over to Crusaders RFC for a joint training session as pre-season continues. 🏉

It’ll be a great chance to get plenty of rugby under our belts, put the work in alongside another local club and make the most of another competitive session before the season gets underway.

Let’s travel well and get a strong Lakenham turnout. The more players we have there, the more we’ll get out of the evening — so make every effort to get down! 💪

Our league campaign won’t be getting underway quite as soon as planned.

Due to the continued dry weather and the condition of pitches across the country, the RFU has taken the decision to delay the start of competitive community rugby, with action now set to begin from the week commencing 21 September.

It’s frustrating to have to wait, but the safety of everyone taking to the pitch has to come first.

We’ll share details of our rearranged fixtures as soon as everything is confirmed.

🟢🔴 𝗙𝗶𝘅𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲 𝗨𝗽𝗱𝗮𝘁𝗲!

Following a small league amendment, our fixture with Norwich II has now been swapped around.

We’ve also added our pre-season schedule, with two joint training sessions against Crusaders and a couple of pre-season friendlies to help us prepare for the 2026/27 campaign. 💪

Make sure you save the fixtures and get the dates in the diary. We look forward to seeing you all throughout the season! 👊

Notice of the Lakenham Union Rugby Football Club Annual General Meeting 2026, which will take place on Tuesday 14th July 2026 at 6.30pm.

The draft agenda and meeting papers will be circulated on Monday 29th June, in accordance with Rule 9.2 of the Club Rules.

If you wish to submit a proposal for consideration at the AGM, please do so by email to me no later than Tuesday 30th June 2026, in accordance with Rule 9.5.1 of the Club Rules. An updated agenda and papers will then be circulated, if required.

Rule 9.5.1
Any proposal shall be submitted in writing to the Secretary by 30 June, duly proposed by one Member entitled to vote and seconded by another.

🏆✨ LAKENHAM UNION RFC AWARDS DINNER 2025/26 ✨🏆

Last night we celebrated another fantastic season at our 3rd Annual Awards Dinner, held at the Oaklands Hotel, with 73 players, members, volunteers and friends of the club coming together for a superb evening.

Guests enjoyed a delicious three-course meal before taking part in our traditional Heads & Tails fundraiser. Thanks to the incredible generosity of everyone involved, including Michael Barber who kindly donated his £50 winner's prize back to the cause, we raised an outstanding £365 for Safe Rescue for dogs..

The evening concluded with the presentation of our annual club awards, recognising the players and volunteers who have made a significant contribution throughout the season.

A rugby club is far more than what happens on the pitch, and evenings like this are a wonderful reminder of the friendships, community spirit and volunteer commitment that make Lakenham Union RFC such a special place to be.
