Hainford 5k and Family Fun Run / Walk 2026

What a fantastic day !! Many thanks to all who helped, supported or contributed in any way to the success and enjoyment of the event and to everyone who entered the events. You all made the day very special, creating a fabulous atmosphere.
There were 125 finishers in the 5k and 41 finishers in the Family Fun Run/ Walk. This year we also included race numbers and timings for the young people in the Fun Run in addition to the 5k. All registering and recording was masterminded by Hugh in the “computer room”.
Full results of both events will be posted on Hainford 5k FB along with the fabulous photographs taken by Kevin Saggers. Timings are in brackets.
Hainford Resident – Female Winner – Lauren Crisp (22:45). Lauren was also the Under 15s winner.
Hainford Resident – Male Winner – Will George (17:24).
Winner of 5k – men – Billy Life (16:30). Winner of 5k - women – Karen Green (20:45).
Winner of the Team Trophy – “Rose + Two Thorns” – Will George, Ollie Dennis, Bethany Gaskin. 13 teams
Fun Run Boys – 1st – Charlie Foley-Wray (9:50); 2nd – Jude Hicks (10:09); 3rd – Jude Shakespeare (10:21)
Fun Run Girls – 1st – Libby Crisp (10:01); 2nd - Evelyn Shakespeare (10:19); 3rd - Grace Grimble(10:57)
Our local volunteers – helpers and marshals were as fantastic and reliable as ever !! “ Hainford History Group invite you to their meeting on Monday 14th September 2026 at 2pm in the village hall. Judith and friends will give a talk on The History of Hainford School. After there will be an opportunity to share your memories/photos of school. Perhaps a rendition of the attached song by recorder players of the school in 1983 could be performed. This was broadcast in an episode of Village Voice, BBC. Hope to see you at the hall 14th September. “

The Hainford 5k run and Family Run/walk is fast approaching. As previously promised here is the pre order form for Vlads pizzas, you deserve one whether you are a runner, a waller , a marshal or a supporter (cheering people on uses a lot of calories!)

Broadland District Council have hired the Hall and Field for Tots to Teens Activity day, so the field will be closed for general use between 9am - 4 30pm

Hainford Village Hall needs YOU!
2027 marks 100 years of Hainford Village Hall on the current site. The Hall was transported here by local volunteers. That must surely have been quite a job !

To celebrate, we are organising a CENTENARY FETE ON SUNDAY JULY 11TH, 2027, FROM 11 A.M.

We very much want to get together a team of volunteers from the community to organise the event. Please get in touch with your ideas and offers of help – [email protected]

HUGS ( Hainford ukulele group ) played their summer concert at Hainford church on Saturday 4th July 2026.
A welcoming Pimm’s was offered to the enthusiastic audience as they arrived and Rev Joanna introduced the band and they were off with Hello Mary Lou.
Further well known tunes helped the audience sing along to the interval when drinks and snacks were served. We were delighted to discover that the audience included some holiday makers hailing originally from Scotland and Yorkshire.
The opening number of the second half saw one band member singing a very credible Freddie Mercury in Wanna Break Free, leading to a tour of favourites including Lay Down Sally and Everyday. However the HUGS version of the Beach Boys Sloop John B was the pièce de résistance. A real cracker!
This event raised £457 for church funds. The next not to be missed HUGs concert is on Saturday 19th December 2026 at Hainford Village Hall.

Hainford History Group will meet on Monday 13th July, 2-3.30pm at the village hall. The second Monday of July. We look forward to seeing you there.
