📣 We’re Hiring – Part-Time Administrator

Roundwood in Taverham is looking for a highly organised and friendly person to join our team for 20 hours per week.

This is a varied role working across our indoor bowls club, holiday accommodation and campsite, including:

🏡 Holiday let and campsite bookings
🎳 Bowls club administration
📧 Customer enquiries and bookings
💻 Managing a range of computer systems
🤝 Supporting members, guests and visitors

We’re looking for someone who is:
✔ Super organised
✔ Confident with computers and online systems
✔ Good with people
✔ Able to juggle several tasks at once
✔ Interested in bowls, or willing to learn

The role includes a mixture of evening, weekend and daytime hours and is fully based onsite at Roundwood in Taverham – it is not a work-from-home position.

Our Open Day is coming up on Saturday 10th October, and we’d love to welcome some new faces to Roundwood Bowls Norwich.

If you’ve always wondered what bowls is actually like, this is your chance to get on the green, have a go and discover everything that happens here. No experience needed and no pressure — just come along, meet the team and see whether bowls might be for you.

🌿 LOOKING FOR A FUN, FRIENDLY WAY TO GET A LITTLE MORE ACTIVE?

Roundwood is delighted to be taking part in Bowl for Health, an 8-week programme from the Bowls Development Alliance in partnership with Active Norfolk, designed to help people get moving, meet others and enjoy the benefits of being active in a relaxed and welcoming environment.

If you’re 40+, living with a long-term health condition or illness, finding it difficult to be active, or simply feeling a little isolated and would like to meet some new people, this could be just what you’re looking for. ❤️

And the best bit? It’s completely FREE!

😀 No previous bowls experience needed
💝 No need to be fit or sporty
🤝 Friendly support and coaching throughout
☕ A chance to chat and socialise
💚 A gentle way to get active, build confidence and meet new people

Our first session is Monday 28 September from 4pm-6pm, with sessions continuing weekly for 8 weeks at Roundwood, Taverham.

You don't need to know anything about bowls – we'll show you everything you need to know, and our friendly team will make sure you feel comfortable from the moment you arrive.

This isn't about being good at bowls. It's about giving something new a go, getting moving and enjoying yourself along the way. 💚

A huge thank you to everyone who joined us for Back to Bowls on Sunday!

We were blown away by the turnout. It was brilliant to see the rinks full, so many familiar faces back together and plenty of fun and laughter throughout the day.

A pretty perfect way to welcome back the indoor winter season at Roundwood Bowls Norwich.

🏆 What a fantastic day at Roundwood! 🏆

Today we held our inaugural Back to Bowls Competition, and what a brilliant day it was!

We had 36 teams and 64 players taking part, with plenty of fantastic bowls on display from both our experienced players and those who are newer to the game. One of the best things about the competition was that teams were drawn at random, giving everyone the chance to meet and play alongside people they may never have played with before. 🎳

The day started with bacon sandwiches for breakfast, followed by burgers cooked by our team on the BBQ for lunch — even the rain wasn't going to stop us! 🍔🌧️

A huge congratulations to our winners:

It was fantastic to see so many people coming together, enjoying some friendly competition and, most importantly, having a great time.

BACK TO BOWLS 🙌

We’re welcoming the indoor winter season back with a full day at Roundwood Bowls Norwich on Sunday 13th September, and there are just 5 player places left.

Registration opens at 9am, with complimentary tea, coffee and a bacon or vegetarian sausage butty served until 10am. Every player is guaranteed at least 2.5 hours of bowls, with teams decided by a random draw and the exact format confirmed once numbers are in.

Then it’s time for a BBQ lunch, with a burger or veggie burger and salad included.

Player ticket: £15
Entries close midnight Friday 11th September.

Not playing? Family and friends can still be part of the day with our £12 spectator ticket, including breakfast on arrival and BBQ lunch.

A proper way to kick off the winter season. See you back on the green!

Welcome to Roundwood Bowls Norwich 👋

Based in Taverham, just outside Norwich, Roundwood is a place to play, compete, socialise and belong. Whether you’ve been bowling for years or have never picked up a bowl before, there’s a place for you here.

From casual roll-ups and beginner coaching to leagues, competitions and a busy social calendar, there’s plenty happening on and off the green. Better still, if you’re completely new, equipment can be provided and you can simply come along and give it a go.

We’ll be using this page to share more of the people, stories, competition and good times that make Roundwood what it is — and hopefully introduce a few new faces to the game along the way.
