Norwich Gymnastics Club

Poppy had a great time at her East regional team training session last weekend at Carousel School of Gymnastics. The session was a chance for Poppy to get to know her team mates and practice her routines ahead of next weekends National final, but Poppy also found time to work some upgrades!

Our Norfolk Squad gymnasts Callie, Micaela, Poppy, Alana, Ellie and Isla had a fantastic session last weekend working with at County Squad. Adam worked with all of the girls, giving them really valuable help and advice on the swing and giant work on bars. Ellie also moved her double back from the tumble over to the floor!
The girls and coaches had an amazing time with Adam and can’t wait to work with him again!

A huge well done to Poppy, Micaela and Ellie, who competed in the Performance Grades Competition yesterday at Pipers Vale!
Micaela and Poppy both competed at performance grade 1. Micaela showed off some stunning gymnastics, collecting a gold medal for her Range and Conditioning routine 🥇Unfortunately a few mistakes kept Micaela out of the medals all around, however she showed amazing resilience to finish her beam routine following a nasty fall.
Poppy managed to have a clean competition, nailing her difficult spin on beam and also collecting a medal for her Range and Conditioning routine 🥈. Poppy’s consistency across the board earned her a 5th place finish and a spot in the East region team for her first ever NATIONAL FINALS!! 🎉🎉🎉
Ellie rounded off the day with calm and composed competition, barely putting a foot wrong and smashing an amazing vault which wowed everyone lucky enough to see it and earned her a GOLD medal! 🥇Ellie also controlled her adrenaline to nail her bar routine!

We have had an incredible weekend competing at the Pipers Vale Pre Grades competition in Ipswich. All 6 of our competing gymnasts showed some amazing routines and collected special recognition from the judges in the form of certificates awarded on each piece.
Poppy and Micaela kicked things off on Friday in the Performance 1 round.
Micaela collected a bronze medal for her Range routine and a shield for placing 3rd All Around. As well as an Easter egg for her number design!
Poppy collected a handful of silver medals, placing 2nd on Vault, Bars and Range! Poppy also collected a shield for 2nd all around!

Saturday saw Callie and Alana take to the stage in the Preparation 2 round.
Callie collected a full set of medals with bronze on Bars, silver on Beam and gold on Range! Callie also added a shield to her collection for placing 3rd All Around!
Alana shared the podium with her teammate, collecting bronze on bars! Alana also won silver medals on Floor and Range, along with a shield for placing 2nd All Around!

Keira and Elva closed out the weekend today competing in the Development 1 round.
Elva received special recognition from the judges following her excellent bar routine where she narrowly missed out on a medal by 0.4! Elva also showed a powerful flighty vault, again narrowly missing out on the medals by 0.25!
Keira won a bronze medal on Range and a gold medal on Bars with a jaw dropping routine! Keira also collected a shield for placing 2nd All Around! Aside from the medals, a personal triumph for Keira today was a fully linked round off, flick, flick on the floor!

Well done to Theo K, Reuben, Adam, Theo S & Coach Danny who competed in the Men’s artistic recreational competition! The boys had a great day and showcased some excellent gymnastics. Theo K came away with a silver🥈 on floor and a gold🥇 on floor! Reuben secured a gold 🥇 for his rings routine and a bronze🥉 on high bar. Adam and Theo S shared joint 4th on P Bars, narrowly missing out on the top three by 0.05!

On Sunday our level 2-5 general gymnasts competed at 💙

All of our gymnasts did extremely well with almost everyone receiving a medal on both tumble and trampette.!!🥇🥈🥉

For some of the girls this was their first ever competition! The girls put on their bravest faces and smashed it welldone girls. 💙💯

All gymnasts who competed should be extremely proud of themselves for their hard work during training and helping motivate and support their teammates. Welldone girls keep up the amazing work!!💙💙

What a fantastic day it has been for our gymnasts Isla, Ellie, Elise, and their Norfolk team mates at the Inter County teams competition today. Isla’s routines on Vault, Beam and Floor contributed to team Norfolk finishing 4th overall. While Ellie and Elise helped their team to a silver medal 🥈 Way to go girls!

Last weekend saw Poppy and Erin compete at the zinc and copper regional finals! Both girls competed really well, with Poppy collecting a gold medal on beam, a bronze medal on floor, and a 4th place finish AA. Erin placed 4th on vault and has been straight to work on some upgrades! (Swipe across to see what Erin has been working on!)
