Congratulations to Ryan Hayward's Melton Legends on winning this years Great Melton Fantasy Cricket. Awards and prize money to be handed over at the fomal end of season presentations! Focus now shifts to GMCC Fantasy Football... until next season!

Good luck to Olly and the Team on Sunday as they take part in the Norfolk Over 40s Finals Day. First up Acle over 40s at 1045....The bar is open and there will be pizza van, so should make for a great day of cricket!. Feel free to pop along and support the team...👴🏼

🏏 GMCC Junior Festival and Presentation Day 🏏

We’re looking forward to celebrating our junior players this Saturday! 🎉👏

Matches will start at 10am with teams announced on the day so please be ready to go at 9.45am....meet at ground at 0930 for U9s and U11s...

All age group presentations will start after the U9 and U11 matches... around 1300.

U13 and U15 Matches will be played in the afternoon as soon as the presenations are complete.

🍺 The bar will be open!

🍳 Breakfast: Bacon rolls will be available on Saturday morning.
🔥 BBQ: The BBQ will be running from lunchtime onwards.

☕ Hot drinks: These will be available on a self-service basis. Cups/mugs can be purchased from the bar for £1.50, with free refills throughout the day.

We can’t wait to see everyone there and celebrate what’s been a fantastic season for our juniors! 🏏

🏆 FINALS DAY DRAMA FOR THE U19s! 🏏🔥
A massive effort from Great Melton at Hethersett CC—bringing home a hard-fought semi-final victory and giving it everything in the final!
Semi-Final vs. Fakenham (WON by 27 runs) 💥
Great Melton lost the toss, but the bats did the talking!
💣 Charlie Hosmer: 30 (14)
💣 George Fawkes: 43 (25)
💣 Max Cubitt: 27 (22)
💣 Laurie Poulson: 45 (32)
Melton posted a huge 182-8 off 20 overs! Fakenham started strong at 105-3, but the game flipped in a single over: a sharp catch by Laurie off Sammy Belderson (2-21), followed immediately by a Sammy run-out! ⚡
Jack Joice closed it out with a clutch 3-25 alongside brilliant team fielding to secure the win! 👏
The Final vs. Downham Stow (Lost by 5 wickets) ⚔️
Great Melton won the toss and elected to bat, but Downham’s attack put the U19s under early pressure at 30-5. Laurie and George Ryan dug in to battle Melton up to 83 all out.
Downham came out firing in the chase, but Great Melton never stopped fighting!

- Sammy Belderson: 2-25 (4 overs)
Melton pushed them all the way to 63-5 before Downham ultimately crossed the line.

What a day of cricket at Great Melton as the u11 Phoenix took part in Finals Day! 🏏🔥
Semi-Final vs. Mattishall
Melton put Mattishall in to bat and the bowling attack was on fire, restricting them to 64 runs
Arthur: 3 wickets
Alfie: 2 wickets
Joel: 1 wicket
Noah: 1 wicket
A steady run chase led by Alfie (14) set the stage, before Henry (25*) smashed the winning boundary alongside Arthur (6*) to send us into the final! 💥
The Final vs. Horsford
We started strong in the field, reducing Horsford to 19/3 after an early wicket from Joel, a lightning run-out and wicket by Alfie. Horsford’s middle order fought back hard to finish on 126.
Despite early stumbles in the chase against some tough bowling, Frankie, Felix, Finlay, and Noah showed great heart to fight to the very end before we were eventually bowled out for 57.
Finishing 2nd in all of Norfolk is a massive achievement for this incredible group of players. Well done all!!!

🏏 WEEKEND ROUND-UP: SATURDAY 29th AUGUST 🏏
That’s a wrap on the Saturday league season! Rain played a major role in the final weekend, but it was a campaign to be proud of across all senior sides

1st XI: Heartbreak on the Final Day - Match Result: Abandoned vs. Great Witchingham 2nd XI (GMCC 68/0 after 11.2 overs).
Season Finish: 3rd Place.
The 1st XI were in a strong position at 68/0 before the heavy rain arrived, forcing an abandonment. Taking 5 points leaves the team finishing 3rd in the league, agonizingly missing out on promotion by just 4 points.

A Team: Lost by 9 wickets vs. Mundford 1st XI.
Great Melton 2nd XI: 41 all out (14.2 overs)
Mundford: 42/1 (7.3 overs)
Season Finish: 5th Place.
In a reduced 20-over match, the A Team found tough going with the bat, bowled out for 41 despite M. Clarke top-scoring with 13. Mundford knocked off the runs in 7.3 overs, though POTM J. Bickel took 1-1 to cap off his individual effort. The A Team finishes a solid 5th in the final standings.

B Team: LEAGUE CHAMPIONS! 🏆 - Won by 5 wickets vs. Gillingham 1st XI.
Gillingham: 96 all out (19.2 overs)
Great Melton 3rd XI: 100/5 (18.0 overs)
Season Finish: 1st Place (Champions by 44 points).
In a reduced 20-over fixture, the B Team wrapped up a glorious season in style. M. Robinson set up the win with brilliant figures of 4-19, while POTM T. Hales anchored the chase with an unbeaten 44* to seal a 5-wicket victory. The team finishes as dominant League Champions, a massive 44 points clear at the top!

C Team: Cancelled vs. Mellis 2nd XI (Pitch underwater).
Season Finish: 7th Place.
The C Team’s final fixture was called off without a ball bowled due to waterlogged pitch. The 4th XI finishes the campaign in 7th position.
