Brooke Cricket Club Under 15s capped off a great season with an excellent home victory over Topcroft on Tuesday evening.
After winning the toss, Topcroft elected to field first. Facing a strong bowling attack, Brooke dug in well and made steady progress throughout their innings, finishing on 115 for 4 from their allotted 16 overs. Toby led the scoring, retiring unbeaten on 30, well-supported by Thomas who scored 17, and by Ethan (7) and Leon (14 not out) who batted positively in the closing stages, adding important runs to boost the total.
In reply, Brooke were disciplined in the field, saving runs, maintaining pressure, and holding several confident catches to keep the scoring rate under control. Matthew and Thomas shared responsibility for keeping wicket, doing a great job between them. The wickets were spread across the team, with Leon and Mylo taking two apiece, while Ethan, Daniel, and Ollie each claimed one wicket. After six wickets had fallen, Topcroft's opening batter returned to the crease and threatened to turn the game in their favour, striking an impressive 50 from just 30 balls. However, Brooke maintained their composure and secured the remaining wicket, dismissing Topcroft for 91 in the 14th over. The final wicket came when Mylo safely held a catch off the bowling of Ollie to seal the victory.
The win confirmed Brooke as champions of their Tier 2 group, a fantastic achievement for a young squad that will largely remain together next season at Under-15 level with the opportunity to defend their title.
A big thank you goes to Ashan for umpiring the match, and to everyone who has supported the team throughout the season by giving their time to umpire, score, and encourage the players from the boundary. Everyoneβs support has been greatly appreciated and has played an important part in creating an enjoyable and successful season.

π LAST WEEKENDβS ROUND-UP π
Sadly, it was a frustrating weekend for the club, with only one of our three teams managing to get a game.
The 1st XI match at Great Witchingham was called off after the heavy rain left the ground waterlogged, while the 2nd XI fixture against Mellis was also cancelled as they couldnβt get a team together.
Despite that, it was fantastic to see so many of our 1s and 3s players head over to Brooke to support the 2nd XI β and they certainly had something to cheer about as the 2s came away with a well-earned, close-fought victory against North Runcton! ππ»πͺπ»
πBROOKE BATTING FIRST β 256/9
There were some great contributions with the bat, including:
π Nish β 64
π Thomas Bush β 43
π Ross Bilham β 42
π Ali Shearer β 39
π Ben Wylie β 21
A really solid team batting performance! ππ»
π― WITH THE BALL
We got off to a flying start, with Chris Barnham picking up an early wicket. T King (U15s), Chris Sheehy and Ross Bilham also took a wicket each, while Ali Shearer picked up 2 wickets. But the standout performer with the ball was Mohamed Nifras, who bowled brilliantly to take an impressive 4 wickets! π₯ππ»
Brooke won by 50 runs!
And nowβ¦ itβs the FINAL league weekend of the season! πͺπ»π
All three teams are hoping to get out there today, although the forecast is looking greatπ¬π§οΈ
Fingers crossed we get three games on and can finish the league season on a high!
Good luck to all three teams β go well! π€π»πͺπ»π

The Juniors all play as one team, with many of them stepping up to support their teammates by playing up an age group when needed. A huge thank you to everyone who has helped throughout the season, and we wish everyone who is moving up ages to a new team all the very best! π
A huge thank you to all the Coaches and Managers for everything they do for the children, as weβre very lucky to have them! And thank you to the scorers, umpires and parents who have helped make all the games happen. Your support, time and encouragement have been invaluable in helping these young, talented players enjoy their cricket and continue to develop. ππ And thank you to Brown & Co for their continued Sponsorship, as weβre incredibly proud of our Junior set up here at Brooke CC!

Brooke CC U11s in action againπ
A great effort from the Brooke CC U11s against Sprowston CC the other week, in another closely fought Tier 2 pairs game!
Sprowston won the toss and elected to field, with Brooke posting 90/3 from 16 overs, giving a net score of 275.
There were some excellent contributions with the bat, including top scorer J Toulson (20), F Lombe-Taylor (12), J Boyt (11), I Wright (9) and J Burckitt (4). ππ
In reply, Sprowston finished on 124/5, with a net score of 299, meaning they took the win by 24 runs.
Brooke bowled well, with B Smith and J Toulson both taking an important wicket each. F Bensley and T Oliver also bowled very economically, conceding just 6 runs apiece. π―π
A special mention to the whole team for battling right to the end and showing fantastic teamwork, determination and spirit as always!. πͺπ
Well done to J Burckitt for captaining the side, and doing a great job behind the wickets! π§€π€©
Well played Brooke U11s, and we go again for the next match! π

π Brilliant evening of cricket for Harryβs U9s! π
A fantastic evening of coaching and cricket from both sides at Brooke last night, with a pairs friendly against Ashmanhaugh & Barton Wanderers CC.
With just five of our players available β H Dannatt, W Boyes, M Boyt, R Freeman and I Wright β Ashmanhaugh turned up with 10, and very kindly lent us players so everyone could get involved, making it a very beneficial experience! π
Great to see all the children playing together, encouraging each other and enjoying their cricket. Lots of smiles, teamwork and fantastic spirit throughout! ππ
A big thank you to T King for umpiring and Ed Wright for scoring β much appreciated!
Well played, everyone! πππ₯°
