I won the legends catagory of a boulder competition this weekend and I had a fantastic time.
Apparently, the fact that I’m a 51-year-old woman, who power screamed on the crux of my hardest boulder was seen as “embarrassing.”
Interesting.
Because when men are loud, intense and competitive in sport, it’s respected.
I refuse to shrink myself into something smaller just to make men comfortable.
I am allowed to take up space.
I am allowed to be powerful.
And I am allowed to try hard publicly.
