Wow, what a weekend!
Congratulations to everybody that took part in The first ever Cheshire 100 run in some really tough conditions.

The wind and rain were relentless yesterday afternoon into the night but you all battled through really well! The sun came out this morning and I think that was a great relief after spending the last day soaked.

Well done to those who completed their first ever 100 and also congratulations to those who had completed the furthest distances they had ever run before!! So many achievements to be celebrated across the board.

We hope you are recovering well, race organisers are off for some well needed sleep! 🤣

A bit more about us!

The Cheshire 100 is an exciting new ultra-distance race which covers the heart of Cheshire including Manchester. This is a 100 mile continuous race which starts in Northwich, Cheshire and covers the traditional ‘Cheshire ring’ canal route in a clockwise direction. Navigating along no less than 6 different canals the route is scenic, easy to follow and relatively flat.

This race has been organised by New Era Community Boxing which is registered as a community interest company, based in Northwich, Cheshire. The club has been offering training and support for young people across the area since 2011.

Mark, the lead coach from New Era Community Boxing completed the route in 2020 and in doing so raised money for Cheshire young carers.

Since completing the route, it has been our ambition to promote the Cheshire canal ring with this event offering the opportunity to take part in an exciting, affordable non - profit ultra running event.

The 100 mile race 𝒔𝒕𝒂𝒓𝒕𝒔 𝗮𝘁 𝗡𝗲𝘄 𝗘𝗿𝗮 𝗕𝗼𝘅𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗖𝗹𝘂𝗯.

𝑷𝒐𝒊𝒏𝒕𝒔 𝒐𝒇 𝒊𝒏𝒕𝒆𝒓𝒆𝒔𝒕 up to checkpoint 1 - these could be useful for support crews.

- 𝑩𝒓𝒐𝒌𝒆𝒏 𝑪𝒓𝒐𝒔𝒔 𝒑𝒖𝒃 𝑵𝒐𝒓𝒕𝒉𝒘𝒊𝒄𝒉 (Bridge number 160 - bridge numbers go in ascending order). This is the first point where you will enter the canal heading clockwise along the route.

- 𝑳𝒊𝒐𝒏𝒔 𝑺𝒂𝒍𝒕 𝑾𝒐𝒓𝒌𝒔 4 miles in (bridge number 193)
There is also a pub just off the canal outside of the Salt works.

- 𝑨𝒏𝒅𝒆𝒓𝒕𝒐𝒏 𝑩𝒐𝒂𝒕 𝑳𝒊𝒇𝒕, 6.5 miles in (bridge 199A)

- 𝑪𝒉𝒆𝒄𝒌𝒑𝒐𝒊𝒏𝒕 1, 𝑷𝒓𝒆𝒔𝒕𝒐𝒏 𝑩𝒓𝒐𝒐𝒌 - 14 miles in at the end of the Trentham Mersey (bridge number 214)
