It’s with deep sadness Brixworth Cricket Club has learnt of the passing of Philip ‘Mac’ MacDonald.

Despite not being a cricketer himself, he spent a number of years volunteering at the club as our head of maintenance, as well as countless hours helping our groundstaff. Whether it was a leaky shower, blocked toilet, electrical issue, building cupboards or repairing tables and chairs, Mac would be on the case immediately, always seeking out the next thing he could Improve.

Hard working, kind, generous he was an extremely popular and well loved member of our club and committee, his enthusiasm, craft and graft will be sorely missed by all of us.

Our heartfelt sympathies to Pat, Katie and Archie. ❤️

Next Sunday we host Carrib United CC for our annual Caribbean cricket day, organised by . Welcoming some great guests such as Alex Tudor (running a coaching session for juniors) and a special guest appearance by the one and only Courtney Walsh! We can’t wait to welcome you all down to the ground for what will be an amazing day yet again!

A great game yesterday against Horton House! 💙🏏 A close match on a fast pitch kept everyone on their toes.

Special mentions to Nicole for a brilliant wicket, and Grace and Annabelle for some excellent bowling. Kara and Hannah shared a superb 102-run opening partnership, finishing unbeaten on 38* and 37*, with great support from the rest of the batting line-up.
