Today is the first of our new era, without Age UK after they decided to set us free.
Looking forward to it.

After 2 decades working in partnership with Age UK, they are stepping back from their involvement with these classes. From April I will be taking responsibility for all the administration as well as leading the classes.
End of an era.

With Omicron rearing it's head we have to be extra vigilant with face covering and so. Take care everyone.

I've received this from the hall:

From the 10th December face coverings have become a legal requirement in community buildings.

The exceptions are:-

Children under the age of 11 years.

People who cannot wear a face covering for medical reasons

During the actual exercise or dance routine or when eating or drinking.

Please continue with the hand sanitisation when entering and leaving the centre and avoid mingling before and after the sessions/event.

For those groups who find it difficult to operate with the doors and windows open for ventilation, during the cold weather, the centre extractor fans can be used instead. The controls are in the kitchen, they are noisy, but I have found a flow of air can be achieved by using just the central extractor at its lowest setting with low noise level. I will label the controls but if you need me to show you please call me. Please make sure you switch it off when you leave as they consume a high level of electricity.

Age UK have changed the enrollment procedures. Essentially you have to phone them on 611200. I tried to upload a PDF of their letter but Facebook does not lend itself to that so I'll paste a relevant snippet below.

In the meantime don't panic about the upheaval, we are carrying on regardless.

From Age UK Letter:

Going forwards, when the next 6-week block is about to start for the class, we now ask that you either call us on 01604 211600 and speak to Reception to pay for your sessions over the phone, or you may call into The Venton Centre on York Road in person to pay for your 6 block of sessions by card. The cost of the sessions remains the same at 6 weeks for £36.
