SKILL FIRST. TECHNIQUE SECOND. 🎯⛳️
The goal with Doug was clear: develop a predictable, controllable fade. ↪️
But while his intention was fade, his movement was still producing more of a draw pattern.
So the technique had to serve the skill. 🧠
Over the last few months, we’ve developed a more centred pivot, with the club staying more in front and working more upright. 🏌️♂️
The result? 👇
🎯 A more authentic fade pattern
📈 A more predictable ball flight
👌 More control of the shot
Define the skill first. Then build the technique to create it.

Nice progress with Gavin’s chipping 👏⛳️
Pressure forward. Better arm structure. Effective use of loft.
From down the line, the club is now working down & left rather than up, away & out.
Cleaner strike. More predictable delivery. 👊

At the inception of the Scottish Mid‑Amateur Championship, we made a commitment to recognise and reward exceptional achievement within the mid‑amateur game in Scotland.
That principle has always mattered.
Behind every performance lies real dedication — whether it’s balancing work, family, or committing countless hours of practice to reach a standard where it’s possible to compete week in, week out.
This year, we’re proud to honour that commitment.
We are delighted to announce that an invitation has been accepted by the newly crowned Scottish Amateur Champion, Greg McClellan of Stirling Golf Club , to join the field.
His achievement showcases the exceptional quality we have within Scotland’s mid‑amateur ranks, and we look forward to seeing him test his game alongside Scotland’s leading mid‑amateurs.

Big progress from ffhenderson 👏⛳️
Keeping the head centred + moving the ball slightly forward has created some really nice matchups.
Better strike. Better compression. Really nice move developing.
Excited to see where this goes 👊

Longer Putter ➡️ Better Posture ➡️ Fewer Putts

Before ➡️ After ➡️ How
mcvey7 ‘s tendency to get the club across the line meant it got stuck behind him coming down, creating a two-way miss.
We used the mini loop + wearegravityfit band to add more structure and stability at the top = better clubhead and face control.
Still some refinement to make, but a fast start 👌

For the last 30 years, golf coaching has become incredibly good at understanding how the club and body interact to produce a desired ball flight.
The next evolution is understanding how the body sequences its movements to create those interactions.
Increasingly, we’re realising the real story starts with how we produce force, interact with the ground, and sequence our movements.
What’s fascinating is that the clues were always there.
Watch the greatest players in history and you’ll see many of the same movement patterns we now measure with force plates, 3D motion capture and biomechanics. The difference isn’t that these principles are new; it’s that our attention has shifted. We now have the technology to understand why those movements worked, rather than simply trying to copy what they looked like.
Coaching isn’t rewriting history.
It’s rewriting our understanding of it.

A subtle change in posture can make a huge difference to how the putter moves.
For aaronhall.1 using the wearegravityfit band helped create a stronger, more stable upper-body position. The result was a much more stable stroke, reducing his path from 2.0° left to just 0.6° left, with significantly less looping throughout the motion.
