🪐Cosmos Defeated At Home - But Finish Season Strong! 💪
On Sunday afternoon, the Cosmos welcomed the Falcons of Lisburn Softball to The Green for our final league game of the season! The Cosmos started strong, with a great defensive display, before getting runs on the board. After the initial shock, the Falcons found their groove and showed their strength at the plate - finding gaps all around the outfield, and punishing defensive mistakes on the infield.
The Cosmos showed how far they’ve come though, with big hits of their own, and some fantastic defensive plays - including the catch of the season from centre fielder Tom Brown. 🤯 Final score - Falcons 23 - Cosmos 6.
⭐️ MVPs were awarded to Tom Brown for an amazing display in the outfield, and to Amira for a fantastic performance at catcher, including 2 brilliant popup catches. ⭐️
Thankyou to the Falcons for a brilliant game! 🪐🤝🦅 Thankyous must also go to our entire Softball Ulster clubmates, umpires, NDCC our home venue, and everyone who has supported the Cosmos in this maiden season! We appreciate you all! 🫶

Starting Monday 14th September and continuing every Monday evening in Comber.

No pressure and no expectations. Just a walk, a chat and plenty of banter with a good group of men.

Everyone is welcome, whether you’ve joined us before or you’re coming along for the first time.

🪐WE DID IT!🪐
The Cosmos welcomed the Sluggers of North Down Softball Club to The Green on Sunday afternoon, for what would be a historical day for the Comber side. 🎉
The Sluggers roared into a 9 run lead in their first at-bat. The Cosmos responded with 6, then a defensive shut out in the 2nd inning followed by 3 scored to tie the game. 💪 Patience at the plate, important hits when it mattered, and tight defence saw the Cosmos take the lead in the 3rd inning - and never look back.
The Sluggers kept chipping away at the scoreline, before a 7 run inning in the 5th began to tease the victory for the Cosmos.
A shutout in the 7th inning, with the 3rd out coming from a popup catch spurred joyous scenes from the Comber side! The first competitive league victory in our short history! Final score - Sluggers 16 - Cosmos 25. 🪐
