Apologies for the lack of posts of late!
Summer holidays and a lack of flying opportunities have meant that we haven't had much chance to get out and fly.
Making up for it this morning with some of our less-common models getting in the air.
Mark got some good flying in with his Hangar 9 Piper Pawnee and FMS F-16 (70mm).
Craig, our resident ACE/ACI, was keeping up his currency with the BMFA Achievement Scheme schedules and putting himself through the A & B schedules with our club trainer.
Interested in getting involved? Drop us a message and we'll get back to you as soon as we can.

Veterans take to the skies with model group - Newtownards Chronicle
Armed Forces veterans are finding friendship, purpose and a shared passion for aviation through a thriving model aircraft club at Newtownards Airfield.
01/06/2026
For the last few weeks, the club has partnered with the Help For Heroes Northern Ireland Community Development Team to offer veterans the chance to build and fly a radio controlled aircraft.
Craig, our club Secretary and one of the Area 13 ACE's, himself a RAF veteran led the activity.
Over 3 evenings, the group were introduced to the basics of rc model construction and supervised in the build of a simple depron model which was then flown.
It was great to watch the group come together and learn the skills needed to build the model whilst also getting a little taste of model flying through a short display and the opportunity to have a few goes on our flight simulator.
Well done to everyone involved.

Craig's MB-339 out for its maiden flight today. FlyFly kit with a 90mm fan on 6s.
Unfortunately it wasn't able to get in to the air due to a lack of thrust 😞
Back to the workshop for some investigation work.
It looks pretty cool though 😎
