The course was in brilliant condition and it was an absolute honour to share the fairways with Irelands most successful golfer.

I got to -6 and tied for the lead after 15holes, unfortunately I made a few mistakes on my last few holes. However, I’m delighted with my progress over the last few events finished tied 2nd twice.

The putting has been an issue but I will continue to work on it and hopefully get my rewards soon.

Nice to get the Win today with 2under .patricksgc_downpatrick in the North. I’ve had some great results recently. Holes 5 & 6 were closed so it was just a 16 hole event. I was delighted with the game today, hitting 15/16 greens and 8/11 fairways. I had 31 putts so lots to still improve on in that area but little to no work on my putting this winter so can’t complain!

This is a notebook and some pictures from it. This notebook was started in 2011.

I started this notebook when I was lucky enough to get my hands on the prestigious Mullingar Scratch Cup in 2011.

Having these notes to look back on from time to time, helps me as a player remember those thoughts and great memories.

For any golfer, I suggest keeping a small notebook in your golf bag. Note down your swing thoughts, feelings you had when you played well. (For example shooting 40points and winning the local club competition) or (you played really well when out practicing on your own) These thoughts on paper will help your mind go back to that day when it all went well.

If you play badly make a note of how your attitude was and could you do anything better to save yourself just one stroke?

Having written proof of this will help you become a better player.

It’s also pretty cool to look back on 15 years later.

Absolutely Delighted to Win the Prestigious PGA Hoey Cup today (The Valley Course) shooting (4under) for the 15 holes that where Open……finishing EAGLE, BIRDIE to win!! Getting your name etched on a Trophy is always nice. Congratulations to (Noel Murray) & for getting their names on the trophy too 🤩🏆
