💙 WHAT A SUMMER! TO OUR WONDERFUL FUNKEY FAMILIES… THANK YOU 💙

As summer begins to draw to a close and lots of boys and girls get ready to head back to school, we just wanted to take a moment to say a huge thank you to all of our wonderful parents and guardians who chose to send your children along to Funkey this summer!

From our home base at Jordanstown Sports Village to our camps in different locations, we have had an absolutely incredible summer; with multi-sport, football and hockey camps, fully booked weeks and record-breaking numbers along the way.

And while those numbers are fantastic, what means the most to us is the joy we’ve had welcoming so many children through our doors. As coaches, we genuinely love what we do, and our biggest hope is that every child who comes to Funkey feels included, cared for, safe and, most importantly, happy. Of course, fun is at the heart of everything we do, after all ‘FUN-IS-KEY’ 😉 but creating an environment where children feel comfortable, valued and able to be themselves is just as important to us.

A massive thank you to our amazing team of staff too. They have worked incredibly hard throughout the summer and continually gone above and beyond to make sure every child has had the best possible experience, while providing the care, encouragement and positivity that makes our camps what they are.

To every child who joined us, whether you were with us for a day, a week, several weeks, or popped up throughout the summer, thank you for making our summer so special. We have loved having you with us and hope you’ve made some brilliant memories along the way.

As we head into a new school year, we wish all of our campers the very best, whether you’re starting P1, moving up through primary school, or making that big transition from P7 into Year 8. We hope it’s a fantastic year ahead for each and every one of you, and we really hope to see you back at Funkey again soon!

🌟 LEGACURRY CAMP ROUNDUP 🌟

And that’s a wrap on our Legacurry Multi-Sport Camps 💙

Across two fantastic weeks of camp, we welcomed children from Legacurry and surrounding local primary schools, with record-breaking numbers joining us for plenty of sport, games, challenges and, of course, lots of FUN!

It has been brilliant to see so many familiar faces returning, alongside lots of children joining us for the first time. A huge WELL DONE to every child who came along, got involved and helped make our two weeks at camp such a success.

And, of course, a massive congratulations to all of our CAMP STARS ⭐ who were recognised throughout the two weeks for their fantastic attitudes, effort, teamwork, kindness, helpfulness, enthusiasm and the way they supported and included others.

We’d like to say a huge THANK YOU to all of the children, parents and guardians who supported our camps at Legacurry Presbyterian Church. We absolutely loved being part of your summer and hope everyone who joined us had a brilliant time!

We’re already looking forward to bringing more FUNKEY camps to Legacurry in the future and hopefully welcoming many of you back again soon!

⚽🔥 FOOTBALL CAMP ROUNDUP 🔥⚽

Three days. Loads of football. Plenty of goals, challenges, laughs and some seriously competitive matches!

Our Football Camp has been a brilliant way to round off the summer programme, with our players getting plenty of time on the ball, developing their skills and putting them into practice in games and mini matches. From our youngest footballers to our oldest, it was great to see everyone getting stuck in and making the most of every session.

A special WELL DONE to our CAMP STARS, pictured below ⬇️ Across the three days, our coaches picked out children who stood out for their excellent listening, ability to follow instructions, effort and enthusiasm, kindness towards others, fantastic footballing skills and impressive match play ⭐

We hope everyone who joined us had a brilliant three days and went home with plenty of football memories to take with them!

🏑🔥 HOCKEY CAMP ROUNDUP 🔥🏑

And just like that, our three-day Hockey Camp is complete and what an incredible three days it has been 🤩

We were fully booked from start to finish, and with the weather on our side, we couldn’t have asked for a better few days. On behalf of all of our coaches, a massive WELL DONE to every child who attended. The enthusiasm, effort, positive attitudes, teamwork and hockey skills on display throughout the camp were absolutely brilliant!

It really has been a massive success, and we hope every child who joined us had a fantastic time, made some great memories and enjoyed developing their hockey skills along the way.

A huge CONGRATULATIONS to all of our CAMP STARS from the three days, pictured below ⬇️ From our youngest group right through to our oldest, they were recognised for all sorts of reasons including fantastic teamwork, improving skills, growing confidence, determination, effort, kindness and helpfulness ⭐

This has been our biggest Hockey Camp to date, and we genuinely can’t wait to offer more hockey-specific camps in the future. We would absolutely love to see you all back on the pitch again 🏑💙

Week 1 was such a busy and successful few days, with a waiting list even in place! We loved seeing so many children getting involved, having fun and enjoying all the sports and games.

Week 2 is filling up fast too, so don’t leave it too late!

Just a few key reminders ahead of tomorrow morning:

Sessions, drop-off & collection are all at the Outdoor Blue Hockey Pitch.

📍 Football Camp
Sessions, drop-off & collection are all at the Indoor 3G Pitch, just off Sports Centre Reception.

👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 Attending both camps?
If you have children attending both Hockey and Football Camp, please drop off and collect them at their respective camp locations.

We appreciate this may take a few extra minutes at collection if your children are at different locations, but rest assured, our coaches will stay with them until they are collected 💙

✅ Please remember your camp checklist:
shin guards, astros/trainers, a drink and a nut-free snack. Hockey players should also bring a stick if they have one (we have spares available to borrow!)

All parents should have received their camp information email this morning. If you haven’t seen it yet, please check your junk/spam folder, as it contains everything you’ll need ahead of camp.

A few important reminders:

🏑 Hockey Camp

👨‍👩‍👧 Attending both camps?
If you have siblings attending both Hockey and Football Camps, please drop off and collect them at their respective camp locations.

We completely understand that it may take a few extra minutes to collect children from both locations. Don’t worry, our coaching team will remain with all children at their designated collection points until they’ve been collected.

🌟 DAY 5: CAMP ROUNDUP 🌟

And that’s a wrap on our 2026 Multi-Sport Camps at Jordanstown Sports Village… but fear not, we’re not finished just yet 🤩 Next week we’ll be rounding off our entire Summer Camp programme with our Football Camp and Hockey Camps, so there’s still plenty of FUN to come!

We honestly can’t believe we’ve reached the final day of our Multi-Sport Camps. The summer has flown by, and it’s been an absolute privilege to welcome so many fantastic children through our doors. Some have joined us week after week, while others have spent just a few days with us, but no matter how long you’ve been part of FUNKEY this summer, we hope every child has left with happy memories, new friendships and a smile on their face 💙

A huge WELL DONE to today’s CAMP STARS, pictured below ⬇️ They were recognised for their fantastic manners, kindness, teamwork and willingness to get involved in every activity. They consistently included others, were always happy to lend a helping hand and gave every challenge their very best effort. They should all be incredibly proud of themselves!

A quick update: Our Football and Hockey Camp are now fully booked, with waiting lists in place for both camps.
