You might leave feeling energised, accomplished and possibly wondering why your legs are a little shaky! ๐
Here are a few things you may notice after your first session:
๐ช Your muscles may feel tired or shaky
Reformer Pilates uses controlled movements that challenge muscles in ways you may not be used to. A little shaking during or immediately after class can happen, especially when your muscles are working hard.
๐ฆต You may feel some muscle soreness
Itโs possible to experience mild muscle soreness over the next day or two, particularly if youโre new to Pilates or returning after a break.
๐ง You may feel muscles you didn't know you had!
The Reformer works your core, legs, arms and stabilising muscles, so your body may notice the workout in places you werenโt expecting.
๐ฟ Give your body time to recover
Stay hydrated, keep gently moving, and allow your muscles time to recover. As you attend regularly, your body becomes more familiar with the movements and the exercises can feel more comfortable.
And remember, you don't need to feel sore to know that you've had a good Pilates session.
Your first class isn't about keeping up with anyone else. It's about learning, moving well and building confidence one session at a time.
