Full time at Whiterock and the Spurs Ladies run out deserved winners and add another 3 points to the board. A really tough test for the ladies in a physical game, battling with the heat all game. Lots of missed chances that would have been buried on a different day, but the girls done really well to stay composed and see the game out with the win despite not being in their best form today. Goals came from Heidi Jones, Laura Lewis Blood and Lucy Rosser which were all brilliantly worked goals.

Next week the girls have their first home game of the season where we welcome Axminster to the Rec, just 3 weeks after our last meeting. ⚽️💙

MATCH RESULT ⚽️

A stunning start to the season for our ladies who ran out deserved winners over Axminster, a game in which we dominated from the off. Against the run of play we found ourselves 1-0 down at half time, but the girls came out with renewed energy despite the heat and were soon rewarded for their efforts. A scramble at the goal mouth saw Ashleigh Cottrell find the net once again, firing the ball into the goal after a brilliant run from Ella Underhill. The girls then stepped it up another gear and Lucy Rosser killed the game off with a stunning 25 yard strike into the roof of the net before she nipped onto lose ball after a save from the keeper.

A brilliant first league game for the girls, every single player played a vital role in today’s game, beautiful football played and 3 points on the board! 🤪💙

Next up we travel to Okehampton next Sunday where we hope to add to our good start.⚽️💙

🏃‍♀️❤️ SUPPORT JESS & DRAVET SYNDROME UK ❤️🏃‍♀️

One of our ladies players, Jess Ruston, is just over 2 weeks away from taking on a HUGE challenge — running a half marathon to raise money and awareness for Dravet syndrome! 💪🏻🏃‍♀️

Dravet Syndrome UK has supported a family friends little boy aged 3 through an incredibly difficult and uncertain journey, and Jess would love to raise some extra money to help ensure that the charity can continue providing vital support to their family and others going through similar experiences. ❤️

And if running a HALF MARATHON wasn’t enough… Jess is also planning on playing in our women’s fixture that afternoon! 😳😂⚽️

That is some serious commitment! 👏🏻🔥

We’d love for everyone to get behind Jess, help spread awareness and, if you can, make a donation to this brilliant cause.

Every donation, no matter how big or small, will make a difference. ❤️

Good luck Jess — we’ll be cheering you on every step of the way! 🏃‍♀️👏🏻⚽️

Its ends all square in the girls’ first home game.

The girls showed great resilience against a strong Elburton side, coming back from being behind twice in the game to come away with a draw.
Our 2 goals came from a calm finish from Ashleigh and a header from Lucy Rosser. ⚽️⚽️
