If you’ve ever booked an hour with me and left about 2 hours later… this will make sense 😂

A few little changes are coming when my new website launches.

Working on the website has made me properly look at my private practice and how much the way I work has changed since I first set everything up.

And the biggest thing I’ve realised is…

I need more time with you.

An hour is sometimes absolutely fine.

But quite often, by the time we’ve talked, worked out what’s actually going on and you’ve properly settled, I’m looking at the clock thinking… well, we’re definitely not finishing now 😂

Now my practice has grown I can’t continue to give away half my working day in overruns 😭 So I’m finally changing it.

The Key Method — 90 mins
This will become my main session for both new and returning clients.

Focused Session — 60 mins
Still there for returning clients when an hour is enough, or you need something that fits more easily into your working day.

Release & Rewire — 2 hours
For the times when we need more space and want to go deeper.

Intuitive Nervous System Reset — 90 mins
For the days when you don’t really want to talk at all. You just need to lie down, switch off and let me take over for a bit.

Holistic & Intuitive healing will have their own section/place on the website.

And that’s basically it.

Fewer options. More time. Better sessions.

I never want you to feel like I’m rushing you out of the door because the clock says our hour is up.

I also don’t want to spend my life running late because I apparently have absolutely no ability to end a session 😂

So this feels like a much better way of working for everyone.

Nothing is changing just yet- the new structure & pricing and pricing will come in when the new website goes live.

And I’m actually really excited about it.

It feels much more like the practice I’ve grown into, rather than the one I started with. 🤎🔑

You booked the holiday. Your nervous system didn’t get the memo…. 🧠

This has come up with clients more than once recently.

“I don’t understand it. I’ve been desperate for a break… and now I’m away, I still can’t switch off.”

They’ve changed the scenery.
They’ve stopped working.
There are no school runs, emails, deadlines or alarms.

And yet their mind is still racing.

They’re irritable. Restless. Checking their phone. Thinking about what needs doing when they get home. Feeling strangely guilty for doing absolutely nothing.

Sometimes they’re even wondering:

Why can’t I just enjoy this?

Because relaxation isn’t simply the absence of responsibility.

If your brain has spent months scanning, anticipating, problem-solving and operating under pressure, it doesn’t automatically abandon that pattern at passport control.

Your surroundings can change in a few hours.

Your internal state often takes longer to catch up.

And this is exactly why I’m far more interested in helping people learn how to actually come down from stress than simply telling them they need to “rest more”.

Because you can take a stressed brain anywhere.

Even somewhere beautiful. 🗝️

We expect people to perform at work while completely ignoring what they’re carrying into it.

Anxiety. Poor sleep. Overwhelm. Stress at home. Burnout. A brain that hasn’t properly switched off in weeks.

And then we wonder why people are exhausted, disengaged, struggling to concentrate or taking time off.

A workplace can’t remove everything happening in somebody’s life.

But it can decide how well it supports the person carrying it.

I’ve now started bringing my work as a therapist directly into workplaces, with a new range of Workplace Wellbeing services built around the issues I see affecting people every week.

WORKPLACE WELLBEING SESSIONS
Therapist-led sessions exploring anxiety, stress, overwhelm, burnout, sleep and regulation – with practical tools employees can use well beyond the session.

WELLBEING DAYS
Mental health education, practical regulation strategies and guided deep relaxation – giving teams genuine time to step out of work mode and reset.

1:1 EMPLOYEE WELLBEING DAYS
Confidential 30-minute individual sessions throughout the working day, offering employees dedicated space for professional support.

Available as one-off sessions or ongoing monthly support.

Because good workplace wellbeing shouldn’t just respond when someone is already struggling.

It should be part of creating a workplace where people are less likely to reach that point in the first place.

Workplace bookings and enquiries are now open. (It doesn’t matter where in the country you are) these sessions are available all over the country and also online.

And if this is something you’d value in your own workplace, save it, share it, or put it in front of the person who needs to see it.

People-pleasing isn’t always a personality trait. Sometimes it’s a threat response with very good manners.

We talk a lot about fight, flight and freeze.

But fawn can be harder to spot… partly because from the outside, it can look like a really lovely person.

The one who never causes a problem.
Who reads the room before anyone else has.
Who says “I don’t mind” automatically.
Who smooths over tension.
Who over-explains a boundary.
Who feels disproportionately awful when somebody is annoyed with them.

Fawning is essentially appeasement.

The nervous system has learned that staying connected, agreeable, useful or easy can reduce the possibility of conflict, rejection or threat.

And that’s why simply telling a chronic people-pleaser to “just say no” can miss the point entirely.

Because the difficult bit often isn’t knowing how to say no.

It’s tolerating what happens inside your body afterwards.

The guilt.
The urge to explain.
The need to check they’re okay.
The temptation to backtrack.
The feeling that somebody else’s disappointment means you’ve done something wrong.

That’s the bit I find far more interesting.

Healing isn’t about swinging from people-pleasing to not caring about anyone.

It’s being able to remain kind without constantly leaving yourself out of the equation.

Save this if “I don’t mind” has been your default answer for far too long.. and send it to the person who perhaps needs to learn about the fourth ‘F’

Some of the things you’re most ashamed of might actually be your ADHD…

And I’m not talking about losing your keys.

Addiction.
Never really resting.
Starting ten things and finishing none of them.
Intrusive or completely bizarre thoughts that make you wonder where the hell did THAT come from?
Forgetting people, plans, conversations, even things you genuinely care about.

Adult ADHD can look very different from the version we were taught to recognise in children.

And when you don’t understand what’s happening underneath your behaviour, it’s very easy to turn it into a character judgement:

Why can’t I just stop?
Why am I like this?
Why can everyone else just get on with things?

I understand ADHD clinically.

But I also understand what it’s like to live inside an ADHD brain.

And that matters to me in my therapy room.

If you’re looking for support from someone who understands the messy, complicated and often overlooked parts of adult ADHD- not just the textbook symptoms, my 1:1 work is available in Usk and online.

Does your brain ever actually switch off?

Do you struggle with anxiety?

Feel constantly overstimulated or mentally exhausted?

Or find that even when you finally get the chance to relax… your brain has other ideas?

THE LAB SERIES is a four-week guided relaxation and nervous system regulation programme created for busy, anxious and overloaded minds.

For 90 minutes each week, you’ll have a space to completely switch off.

We’ll use guided relaxation, hypnotic techniques and gentle nervous system regulation to help your mind slow down, your body soften and everything feel a little less on.

Alongside the relaxation, each week I’ll share simple, practical tools and techniques you can take home with you- particularly around anxiety, sleep, burnout and overstimulation.

No pressure. No complicated exercises. And definitely no expectation that you need to be “good” at relaxing.

Just four weeks where, for 90 minutes, you get to put everything else down- self care is not selfish ❤️‍🩹

The group is intentionally kept very small, with only 6 spaces available.
