🏏 What a fantastic Race Night at Newport Cricket Club! 🏇

A huge thank you to everyone who came along and helped make our recent Race Night such a brilliant evening, raising an amazing £1,100+ for the club! 🎉

Special thanks to Gareth Bricknell, who hosted, organised and ran the entire event, creating a fantastic atmosphere throughout the evening for our players, members, families and supporters.

We had 7 exciting races across the night, with huge thanks to our race sponsors Steve, Ash, Mitch, Tom, Henry, Kev & Max for their generous support. 👏

The evening concluded with our special auction race, “Legends in the Sky”, paying tribute to past Newport CC legends who are sadly no longer with us, but whose names and memories live on through the legacy of our club. 💛 💙

Overall, it was a brilliant night of fun, laughter and community spirit, and we’re incredibly grateful to everyone who attended, sponsored, donated, bid and supported the event.

What a way to finish our final Dynamos Cricket Festival of the summer! ☀️🏏

This year at Newport CC, our Dynamos programme saw over 20 children develop their skills on a Sunday morning and Tuesday evening, and showcase them brilliantly across all four festivals. It has been fantastic to watch their confidence grow week by week and see them play some amazing cricket.

Across all four festivals, Newport set a high standard, winning all of our games. However, what made us most proud was the manner in which the children played – always showing the true spirit of cricket, teamwork and outstanding sportsmanship.

And what a fitting ending to the summer! Our two Newport teams, the Crocodiles 🐊 and Sharks 🦈, went head-to-head in a hotly contested match that went right down to the very last ball, with the Crocodiles coming out on top by just 1 run! What a finish! 🙌

A huge thank you to Bricky, Ash and Mitch for giving up their time to run the teams throughout the summer – your support has been invaluable.

Coming second this year is something you should all be so proud of! 👏🏻 What a fantastic achievement and a brilliant season from everyone involved.

We’ve had many new faces this season, and I honestly can’t believe how many players have been available each week! It’s been a season filled with fun, laughs and lots of amazing memories along the way. ❤️🏏 It’s fantastic to see cricket becoming more and more popular across the island. 🙌🏻

Well done to everyone who has played for Newport this season. I hope you’ve all enjoyed it as much as we have! 💙

A big well done to Arreton, Ryde and Ventnor for a fun, hot season! ☀️🏏 It’s been great playing alongside you all and seeing the women’s game continue to grow across the island.

Thank you to Isle of Wight Cricket for putting on another excellent festival for the Dynamos yesterday. Both our teams really enjoyed the afternoon and again gained much from their matches. It's been great to see the improvements they are making over the course of each festival. 🙌

We even had a close match with one another, with the crocodiles coming out on top this time against the sharks. 🐊
