Geraint Thomas National Velodrome of Wales

The Wales National Velodrome in Newport is Wales’ official national Velodrome, is home to Welsh Cycling and hosts national and international competitions, including use by British Cycling for practice sessions. The Wales National Velodrome hosted Team GB and Paralympic GB as they prepared for the Olympic and Paralympic games in London 2012, Beijing 2008 and Athens in 2004. In summer 2012 the Australian and USA Paralympic cycling teams also trained in Newport ahead of the Paralympic Games - and they'll be back again in Summer 2016 ahead of Rio! At Wales National Velodrome you can have a go at cycling the track on one of our beginner’s sessions or take part in a course. The facilities at the Velodrome also include a Newport Live Gym, a Spinning Studio, free weights gyn, multi-purpose indoor sports arena, 3G Football Pitch and functions rooms available to hire. We're really pleased to announce that we're starting our new Children's Cycling programme from Sunday 13 September and the time table is as follows:

09:00 – 09:45 – Balance Bike session
10:00 -10:45 – Learn to ride 4-5yrs
11:00 - 11:45 – Learn to ride 4-5yrs
12:00 – 12:45 – Learn to ride 6yrs+
13:00 – 13:45 – Learn to ride 6yrs+
14:00 – 14:45 – Cycle Skills

So, whether you're looking to get your child started on a bike, or upskilling your child to improve their confidence and ability - there's something for everyone 😍
