September theme incoming....🎮
Apparently, getting older means periodically discovering that your body has installed a brand-new feature without asking permission.
Weird noises. Mysterious aches. Reading glasses. Body parts developing opinions about the weather.
So this month, I'm looking at what healthy aging actually looks like. Not trying to stay exactly the same but learning, adapting and carrying on.
And one of the best things we can do? Keep moving.
Thursday's class is about building strength and capability for the body you have now; no pressure, no perfection. Just useful movement.

She kept feeling that she was "failing" at healthy habits. But when she paused to reflect, she noticed something important: she wasn't failing, but she was expecting herself to follow a routine that no longer matched her life.
So each week she started asking "what worked?" "What didn't?" "What do I need to adjust?" That small habit of reflection helped her let go of guilt and build habits that were actually sustainable.
You do not need a perfect journal practice for reflection to count.
A pause counts.
A thought on a walk counts.
A note in your phone counts.
one honest question counts.
small awareness still counts.

Reflection doesn't need to take long.
If journaling feels like too much, try one of these questions instead.
1. What helped me this week?
2. What drained me this week?
3. What do I need a bit more or less of next week?
That's enough to build awareness. And awareness is often where change begins.

Reflection doesn't have to mean pages and pages of journaling.
It can be:
👩🦱 Noticing how you feel
👩🦱 Asking yourself one question
👩🦱 Learning from your week
👩🦱 Recognising a pattern
👩🦱 pausing before repeating something unhelpful
👩🦱 Thinking while walking
👩🦱 Giving yourself space to notice
This week, I'm focussing on REFLECT. Because awareness is a healthy habit too.

After a difficult stretch, she realised she'd become much more isolated than she wanted to be.
The idea of "getting out more" felt overwhelming, so instead she started smaller:
one regular class
one message to a friend
one conversation without pressure to be on form
What made the difference was not intensity. It as consistency.
A few small points of contact helped her feel less cut off and more supported.
What kind of connection feels most supportive to you?
Connection can be simple.
🤝A message.
🤝 A smile.
🤝 A chat.
🤝 A shaded walk.
🤝 A familar class.
This weeks reminder: small moments of connection still count.

Sometimes we think connection only counts if we are really sociable, really available, or up for a big catch-up.
But if energy is low, then gentle connection can be enough.
Try:
Sending one message
Replying instead of initiating
Walking with someone rather than sitting in a noisy environment
Attending something without staying long
Letting connection be simple.
Supportive habits need to work in real life.
