Congratulations to Niamh Lowry, who has been selected for the Emerging Ireland squad. The squad will travel to England next week to compete in the ECB Super 4s competition.

Niamh has been selected after putting in several exceptional performances with the Ireland U19s squad earlier in the summer.

🏏 A HUGE MILESTONE FOR DUNDRUM GIRLS’ CRICKET!

Last night marked a very special occasion for Dundrum Cricket Club as our U15 Girls played their first ever cricket match, taking on a strong CI U15 Girls side at The Meadow.

While the result didn’t go our way, with the girls narrowly losing by 4 wickets, the scoreline was very much secondary to what was achieved. This was the first ever competitive game for this group of girls, and they should be incredibly proud of their performance, effort and attitude throughout.

Over the last couple of seasons, our girls’ section has grown tremendously. Last night was the next exciting stage in that development.

It was fantastic to see a group of young players representing Dundrum, gaining valuable match experience and creating memories that will hopefully be the start of a long journey in the game.

A massive thank you to CI for a great game and for helping make the girls’ first match such a memorable occasion.

At Dundrum Cricket Club, we are incredibly proud of our commitment to growing women’s and girls’ cricket. From our youngest players right through to our senior women’s team, we want to provide opportunities for girls to play, develop, compete and fall in love with the game.

The future of girls’ cricket at Dundrum is looking very bright!🌟

The Men 1st XI secured an impressive 80 run win over Arches 1st XI. Maree Lourens set up the win with a magnificent 166 not out from only 125 balls. He then backed it up in the 2nd innings by taking 4 for 46.

Maree put on 191 for the opening wicket with Scott Symington who scored 67. Andrew Campbell and Caleb Armstrong supported Maree in the closing overs to help Dundrum to an impressive score of 288 from the 40 overs.

Dundrum bowled Arches out for 208 with all the bowlers making significant contributions.

But the day belonged to Maree 💚 Well done Maree a fantastic achievement.

The Women XI had the honour of wearing the new kit first tonight! And they put on another thrilling game for the supporters by beating CSNI 2nd XI by 5 wickets.

CSNI scored 104 in the first innings. Addie Shilliday 1 for 14, Lucy Gunson 1 for 20, Jenna Cummings 1 for 22 and Ayla Boyd 1 for 13. Super fielding backing up the bowlers.

Niamh Lowry top scored with 40 in the second innings. There were important contributions from Jenna Morris 17, Lucy Gunson 14 and Jenna Cummings 13.

Dundrum required 3 to win from 2 balls. Up stepped Ella Spratt who smashed the 2nd last ball for 4 to spark the celebrations.

Tomorrow night the U15 girls play their first ever game at home to Lisburn💚

The 2nd XI fell to a disappointing defeat to Drumaness Superkings 2nd XI this afternoon.

But the day belonged to Caleb Armstrong who smashed his way to a maiden 100 from only 48 balls.

The young all rounder eventually finished on 124 not out from 65 balls striking 15 fours and 7 enormous sixes in an innings which showcased both his timing and considerable power. Several of his sixes cleared the boundary with plenty to spare, providing a memorable afternoon for the Dundrum youngster.
