🏆NAOMH PÁDRAIG CUP WINNERS! 🏆

What a performance from our U8.5 boys today at St Patrick’s Lisburn! 💚💛

We travelled with two teams, a Green team and a White team and both did the club incredibly proud.

Every boy in our U8.5 group has worked tremendously hard over the past 8 months, and today the Green team earned the reward by lifting the Naomh Pádraig Cup.
This win belongs to the entire group and shows all the boys that when you put the effort in…..you will be rewarded.

The tournament featured a new scoring format for the day, with two points awarded for a score over the bar and one point for a score under—and the boys certainly made the most of it!

Going forward, the Green team were absolutely devastating, scoring an incredible 67 points across their first five eight-minute games, while conceding only nine. Defensively, they worked tirelessly for one another, earning their place in the semi-final and then the final.

In both knockout games, they continued to demonstrate everything they’ve been working on in training. Support play, pressure, movement and, most importantly, a tremendous work rate. They continued to score heavily coming close to 100 points over 7 games 😂 while defending as if their lives depended on it!

The White team played five competitive games against strong teams they had never faced before. They showed no signs of nerves and displayed everything they’ve been working on in training taking advantage of the two-point scores, putting pressure on their opponents, supporting one another during the build-up play and working incredibly hard for each other. The coaches could not fault their efforts.

A very proud day for the boys, their coaches and their families! 👏🏻

Thank you to St Patrick’s Lisburn for inviting us and for hosting such a well-organised and competitive tournament. What an experience for all the boys! 🫱🏻‍🫲🏼

To finish off the day a very, very noisy bus journey and an ice-cream pit stop on the way home! 🙉

Well done to our U16 quartet of Fiadh, Sophie, Ruby And Isla, at this mornings Down U15 PDP Festival against Armagh and Cavan!!

Our very own Harry (centre of podium) broke the UK U-14 mile record at meet six of the Lagan Valley Super 6 Series.

Harry stormed to an exceptional 4:49 mile, becoming the fastest U14 mile runner in the UK this season!🥇🏆

He also claimed silver in the 100m, completing a truly memorable evening. 🥈🔥

Everyone at Bryansford Club is incredibly proud of you, Harry! What an amazing achievement — the future is bright! 💚💛👏

Down LGFA is currently gathering expressions of interest from coaches who would like to complete either the LGFA Level 1 or Level 2 Coaching Course.

Level 1: Coaches should have completed the Introduction to Coaching Gaelic Games (ICGG)/Foundation course before progressing to Level 1.

Level 1 consists of 3 x 2 hours online followed by 1 in person day.

Level 2: Coaches should have completed LGFA Level 1 and would normally have at least one year of coaching experience following its completion. However, relevant previous coaching experience will be considered.

Level 2 consists of 4 in person contact days .

We are currently exploring the possibility of hosting both courses.
