Washington Tournament — NCJ Napoli U9

What a day for these lads. After a summer of hard work, team bonding and relentless graft, today felt like the perfect showcase of everything they’ve been building.The standard across the tournament was exceptional — a brilliant advert for U9 football in the North East. Huge shoutout to NCJ Milan U9, who finished 2nd. More importantly, both sets of lads supported each other every step of the way. A credit to the parents, guardians and the club.Every single Napoli player put in a shift, showed real quality, and made their families proud (and their coach too!).

Group Stage

Prudhoe Castle

A real battle between two strong sides. The game was fought in midfield with both teams pushing for the opener. Zyren grabbed the first with a tidy finish, but Prudhoe’s keeper was outstanding but we held on for the win.

Velocity Falcons

The lads turned on the style here. Relentless attacking football from start to finish. Jermaine hit a hat‑trick, Quinn added two, and Napoli controlled the game throughout.

Washington Navy Inter

End‑to‑end football — a proper U9 thriller. Both teams traded goals like a boxing match. Napoli pulled through thanks to a smart hat‑trick from Zyren and another from Jermaine. Unbeaten and into the quarter‑finals.

Quarter‑Final — Boro Rangers Bayern.

What a game! Boro were excellent early on, with their keeper scoring a screamer from distance before adding another before half‑time Napoli came out flying in the second half, peppering the goal and completing a brilliant comeback: two from Jermaine and one from Zyren sealed the win.

Semi‑Final — Wallsend Yellows

Both teams were relentless — strong in defence and dangerous in attack. Napoli led 3–2 until the dying seconds when Wallsend grabbed a late equaliser.

Penalties followed… and it wasn’t to be today, losing 3–2. A tough one for the lads, but they left everything on the pitch.

⭐ Player Highlights

Lucas — Outstanding all day. Brilliant saves in the group stage, and produced one of the best flying fingertip stops you’ll see at U9 level in the quarter‑finals. Followed it up with a huge one‑on‑one save. Took a few knocks but never stopped smiling.

Tommy — Lives and breathes defending. Would take on anyone — even R9 — if they came near the Napoli goal. Won every duel, threw himself into everything. Player of the Tournament for Napoli.

Zyren - this lad is one of the toughest in the league and can score goals too! Was relentless today and showed what we all love about him - tough tackling and an eye for goal! 7 in total and consistently through each phase of the tournament.

Bradley — Showed his defensive qualities brilliantly, slotting in at left‑back and centre‑back. Strong in the tackle and dangerous going forward. Scored an absolute screamer in the quarter‑final.

Third Place Finish brilliant achievement for a group of lads who gave everything. The season ahead looks exciting — these boys are ready.

Jermaine — Makélélé’s defensive grit mixed with Rooney’s finishing. A true captain. Didn’t miss a one‑on‑one all day and finished with five goals.

Quinn — Found pockets, ran channels, and caused chaos for defenders all day. A constant outlet and clinical when it mattered. Scored screamers in the quarters and semis, plus a hat‑trick in the 3rd‑place play‑off. Seven goals total.

⚽️ NCJ Inter v Stocksfield ⚽️

WOW… what an open game! 🙌🏻🔥

Inter started brilliantly, moving the ball around the pitch and showing some lovely football, only to get caught on the break as Stocksfield made it 1-0.

The lads stuck to the task though, and Quinn produced a lovely finish off the bar and in! 🙌🏻.

Inter really started to flow after that, and the goal of the game came after the ball was played through every member of the team before Max smashed it past the keeper! ⚽️🔥.

Stocksfield continued to play some lovely football, while Inter’s high press allowed them to play through the lines and level things up.

The third came after Harrison had made some fantastic saves. He then played a brilliant ball into Quinn, who showed some individual brilliance to bend it into the top bins! 🙌🏻🔥.

Harry was absolutely amazing on the ball today, driving forward from the back and seemingly covering every blade of grass for the team! 💪🏻 MOTM 🏆

But Inter were unlucky to concede again after a long punt from the Stocksfield keeper made it 3-3 going into half time.

The second half was no different, with attacking talent from both teams on show. Some slick Inter play sent Teddy through and, calm as you like, he finished brilliantly!

Then again, Inter decided to give Rob and Lee a heart attack 🤣 as Stocksfield levelled it at 4-4.

With just 2 minutes to go, Stocksfield struck again with some great link-up play.

1 minute left… surely there can’t be anything else in this game?! 😱 Or so we thought. .

Teddy drove down the wing and pulled it back to Noah just outside the box. Noah drove it towards goal and found the net! 🤯🔥

Absolutely fabulous football from both sides. 👏🏻 A massive shoutout to Stocksfield — they played some lovely football and made it a brilliant game from start to finish! 👏🏻⚽️

⚽ NCJ Napoli U9 vs Wideopen Comets

Another midweek friendly for the lads on Tuesday, this time against a top‑quality Wideopen Comets side. What followed was a brilliant, high‑scoring game with both teams going toe‑to‑toe from the first whistle.Relentless attacks, last‑ditch defending, end‑to‑end football, and even a borrowed keeper due to an injury — this one had everything. Wideopen came out deserved winners on the night, but every parent and guardian from both sides should be incredibly proud. The standard of football on display was exceptional.

⭐ Player Highlights

Lucas — An absolute warrior. Despite feeling unwell, he still tried to start in goal, came off briefly, then bravely returned. Made some brilliant saves and distributed long and short balls to help build play. Huge effort.

Tommy — Worked tirelessly to deal with constant pressure from Wideopen. Strong defensive positioning, smart shutdowns, and even pushed forward down the wing. Massive shift.

Jermaine — Outstanding defensively and showed real versatility, playing multiple positions on the right and even stepping in as keeper. Never stopped running and capped it off with a well‑taken goal. A dependable 7/10 every week.

Bradley — MOTM performance. Brilliant in both defence and attack, finding great positions and finishing superbly — four goals in total. His fine form continues and couldn’t be better timed heading into the new season.

Quinn — Growing every week in how he drops into pockets of space. Drifted inside from the left to create chances and took four goals of his own, all different types. His pre‑season goal tally keeps climbing.

🔵 Final Thoughts

Not the result the lads wanted, but the progress over the last eight weeks is clear for everyone to see. Plenty of positives, plenty of development, and plenty to be excited about as we move into the new season.

What an incredible evening for our U9 Inter lads, who were invited along to Newcastle United Academy tonight! 🖤🤍

The boys absolutely loved every minute and it was a fantastic experience from start to finish. The smiles, energy and enthusiasm said it all! 🙌⚽️

A huge thank you for the opportunity and a massive thank you to all the amazing coaches who made the evening so special.

And, of course, a huge shoutout to the lads — you were OUTSTANDING! 👏🔥

Hebburn Hornets vs NCJ Napoli

A brilliant advert for the game we all love. Both sides played with intensity, bravery and real quality from the first whistle.

First Half

Hebburn came out flying — three goals in the opening five minutes put Napoli under real pressure. They pressed relentlessly, created chance after chance, and forced Napoli to defend deep.Napoli did carve out opportunities to pull one back, but the ball just wouldn’t cross the line. A mix of strong defending, last‑ditch blocks and a bit of bad luck kept the scoreline as it was going into the break.

🔥 Second Half

Half‑time prep talk clearly worked. Napoli came out transformed — aggressive, confident, and determined.
They hit the bar several times, kept pushing forward, and refused to let the game slip away. Bradley sparked the comeback with the first goal, Jermaine finished off two excellent moves, and Quinn — after hitting the woodwork five times — found the winner in the dying seconds.
Pure determination. Both sets of parents, guardians and coaches should be incredibly proud. The standard of football today was outstanding.
Hebburn made it a tough, physical, high‑quality contest, but Napoli’s resilience and relentless attacking play saw them over the line

- Lucas — Back from his holiday and looked like he’d never been away. Brave, sharp and decisive. Closed down attacks superbly and wasn’t afraid to come off his line to stop danger early. A huge part of keeping Hebburn from adding more.

- Tommy — The rock at the back once again. Fewer chances for his trademark mazy runs, but he handled Hebburn’s strong, physical attack brilliantly. Fearless, composed and constantly turning defence into attack with smart passes.

- Bradley — Put in a massive shift. Got the first goal that kick‑started the comeback and battled hard all game. Tracked back when needed, pushed forward with purpose, and stayed strong under pressure.

- Jermaine — A captain’s performance through and through, Well Deserved MOTM 🏆. Battled with both wingers and forwards, drove the team forward, and took his chances clinically. Leadership, work rate and quality all on show.

- Quinn — Ran the channels brilliantly, took on defenders fearlessly and hit the bar three times and the post twice. It felt like it wasn’t going to be his day — until he smashed home the winner in the final seconds. Persistence rewarded.

🌟 Match Update: Park View Lions vs NCJ Napoli U9s

What a game. Both teams were ruthless going forward and relentless in defence. It was end‑to‑end from the first whistle, with goals flying in at both ends and parents treated to last‑minute saves, brilliant team passing, and a few absolute screamers.

A match full of aggression, teamwork, and a real desire to win. Both sets of coaches, parents, and guardians should be incredibly proud of the effort on show.

🔵 NCJ Napoli Player Highlights

- Harrison (Guest Keeper) — Another fantastic performance. Pulled off huge one‑on‑one saves, produced flying fingertip stops, and constantly turned defence into attack. Kept the pressure on all night.

- Tommy — Mr Reliable at the back. Stayed tight on Park View's attackers, made several last‑ditch challenges, and stepped forward at key moments to build play from the back.

- Bradley — Continued his brilliant form with a hat‑trick. Pressed well from wide areas, battled to keep possession, and worked hard defensively. A great all‑round display.

- Zyren — Worked tirelessly throughout. Had several long‑range efforts that on another night would have flown in. Made life difficult for their wingers and put in a strong team performance.

- Freddie — MOTM and his first City hat‑trick. Ran himself into the ground, took his chances brilliantly, and could easily have had more. A superb all‑round effort.

- Jermaine — Battled hard against some excellent Park View players down the wing. Applied pressure at key moments, created opportunities for teammates, and made sure the opposition had to work for everything. Rounded off with two very well taken finishes.

- Quinn — Pressed the defence brilliantly, forced errors, and made sure the Park View Lions couldn’t build easily from the back. Set up chances and finished the night with a well‑taken goal.
