🏏 CLUB DOUBLE! 🖤💚

A brilliant Saturday for Greenside CC with both senior sides picking up convincing wins! 🙌

🏏 1st XI beat Cramlington CC by 79 runs
🏏 2nd XI beat Blaydon CC by 134 runs

Some outstanding individual performances with bat and ball across both teams. 👏

Unfortunately the weather has other plans & due to the rain we have had to cancel the ladies festival ☔️

We’d like to say a massive thank you to everyone who has come down to support us this year, and to everyone who turned up and made the show such a fantastic day.

A special thank you also goes to everyone involved in pulling together a last-minute game of cricket on Sunday. The kids took the win, making it another fantastic afternoon at HQ! 🏏👏

🏆 CUP WINNERS 🏆

GCC U11s came away victorious in the U11 Plate tonight at Marsden, vs Marsden. We were stuck in to bat notching a pretty handy net score of 131 (111-6). Poppy Short leading the way top scoring with 33, including 4 x 4’s and 1 x 6.

Some excellent batting from the youngsters of Marsden, who should be very proud of their efforts. Marsden were in control till Olly Watts bowled the 12th over, then Sophie Bell, then Luke McRorie. Three overs 4-2, leaving Marsden with 20 needed from 12 balls. Sophie and Luke wrapped the game up securing what we believe might well be the first U11 competitive hardball trophy in the clubs history.

Everyone at the club is so proud of them all! Most importantly, they’re all absolutely great kids who put the effort in and are now seeing the rewards.

Not only did these 7 win every single game they played, they also came away as tournament winners, taking 1st place! 🥇

What an incredible effort from them all — brilliant cricket, teamwork and determination from start to finish. Couldn’t be prouder of this little team! 👏
