Newcastle have had to do all of pre-season without one of their key defenders, but there’s finally some good news for the Toon Army.

Tino Livramento missed the friendlies against Gateshead and Bristol City, and he’s also sat out the squad’s training camp in La Manga. But the right-back just gave fans a boost with an Instagram post showing him grafting hard in the gym.

As per NewcastleWorld, the photos show Livramento looking sharp and working at full intensity — lunges, bike sessions, and strength work. No grass or ball work just yet, but it’s the clearest sign yet that he’s making real progress.

That matches what Eddie Howe said before the team flew to Spain. The former boss expected most injured players back “around La Manga” — but flagged Livramento as the one who’d need a bit longer.
“We anticipate that all the injured players that we have are on a good track at the moment... maybe Tino Livramento apart,” Howe said.

Livramento has been out since picking up a calf injury that also forced him to pull out of England’s World Cup squad. His absence is why Newcastle have been linked with another right-back this summer — the club wants cover in case fitness issues pop up again.
