. Part of what makes our community so fabulous is the unwavering support everyone shows each other. We love sharing each other’s wins, and we love seeing new names added to our wall as members reach their milestones.

There’s something special about the pride that comes with hitting 25, 50, 100 or even more classes — and even better when the people around you celebrate it too. As teachers, we get to be part of those moments, so make sure you notice them, celebrate them and encourage the rest of the community to do the same.

You survived the heat 💦... now don’t forget the recovery

A good hot yoga class leaves us feeling strong, sweaty and accomplished. But with all that sweating comes the loss of water and electrolytes, so rehydrating afterwards is one of the best things you can do for your body.

While water is always a great place to start, adding electrolytes back in can help support recovery, reduce fatigue and have you feeling ready to do it all again.

We’ve been putting HYCO drinks to the test, and we’re big fans. They’re a refreshing way to top up your electrolytes after class, and we’re excited to say they’ll be landing in the studio very soon. 👀

Consider this your excuse to hang around for a post-class chat... with a HYCO in hand

Let’s talk Half Moon 🌙

Half Moon is the very first posture in the Bikram sequence, and it sets the tone for everything that follows. It’s a powerful side-body and spine stretch that can feel intense, but when you focus on doing it well rather than going deeper, it becomes the perfect foundation for your practice.

Remember: it’s never about how far you go. When you move with good technique, your body opens naturally over time. That 1% today might become 10% next week.

✨ A few technique tips to help you progress:

• The tailbone tuck: Rather than thinking about creating a backbend, imagine lifting your p***c bone up towards your ribs. This creates the tuck while keeping the spine long and tall. Don’t forget the legs either—lift the kneecaps, engage the thighs, and start working on those locked knees from the very beginning. You’ll definitely notice your legs working during that first pause!

• Keep the line: As you bend to the side, aim to keep one long, straight line from fingertips to fingertips. If you notice your arms and chest dropping forward, you’ve probably gone a little too far. Lift up slightly, then reach your arms back so your fingers point towards the back corner of the room. From there, rotate your chest towards the mirrors, letting the top shoulder move back as the bottom shoulder comes forward.

• Create length, not crunch: Avoid collapsing into the side bend. The side of your body facing the ceiling should feel like it’s constantly lifting and lengthening, even as your hips press out to the side. Think about creating one beautiful, even arc from your fingertips all the way down to your feet.

Small adjustments make a huge difference. Focus on quality over depth, be patient with your body, and you’ll be amazed how this posture develops over time.
