There is a time and a place to try and interview one of the guys from the gym.....immediately after their conditioning I have found is not optimal 🤣🤣 Richard had just finished a HARD session but he still found some very kind words for me 🤣

I cant think of a situation where a crash diet is the long term answer. It drives me crazy that they are still a thing! I wouldn't usually use a specific example of someone in the gym but Joe's story is applicable to this so thought it was worth mentioning. I should have added that since this time he has been training properly and we made small changes to his existing diet and set up a long term goal that we are working towards. He is kgs down, moving better and feeling better. Nothing beats consistency. There is no short cut

I stole 20 seconds of time at the start of one of our SGPT sessions to have a quick catch up and see what she likes about training here 😁💪

Getting in good shape starts with small positive steps. One of those is SUPER simple! Just move more! Walking will always be the go-to as you don't need any machines, it is low impact and super easy. Move move and move some more! 💪

I am getting on my soapbox but it does do my head in 🤣🤣 too much misinformation out there when it comes to health and fitness. Influencers and "coaches" who don't really believe what they are saying just throwing things out there for views and reactions. I guess that is why I don't get millions of views on my stuff though 🤷🤣

Whether it is adding muscle, losing fat or performing better at a sport/active hobby that you love....we got you covered 💪

The summer holidays can be a minefield when it comes to getting into shape as a parent. But there is always solutions! 😁💪

Angel of the North Challenge!

NESP Charity Liftathon – 24 Hours for Cancer Research UK

Join us at North East Strength & Performance (NESP) as we take on an incredible challenge:

Can we collectively lift the weight of the Angel of the North in just 24 hours?

The Angel of the North is estimated to weigh 208 tonnes (above ground not including foundations). Over a continuous 24-hour period, we'll be tracking every lift completed in the gym and adding it to our running total as we attempt to reach this huge milestone together.

This event is being held in memory of football legend and local hero Kevin Keegan, whose courage and impact inspired and brought joy to so many of us across the North East. ALL money raised will be donated to Cancer Research UK.

How it works:

✅ Anyone can take part – you do not need to be a member of NESP.

✅ Make a donation to Cancer Research UK via our fundraising page (link at the bottom) or donation bucket (in gym)

✅ Lift any weight, on any piece of equipment in the gym.

✅ Every kilogram lifted counts towards our 208-tonne target.

✅ Lift once or stay all day – every contribution matters.

Whether you're a seasoned lifter, complete beginner, football fan, or simply want to support a fantastic cause, we'd love to see you there!

Small group PT vs Large group training - what works for you?

31/07/2026

You can still have a drink and get in shape. You can still enjoy your life and get into GREAT shape. But everything in moderation as they say. Just make better choices as you go and it will all come together 💪
