“Heading into my third year at Newcastle it’s safe to say being part of this boat club has had a huge impact on my university experience.

From the moment I arrived it was clear that the atmosphere and culture of the club was special. I have had the privilege to row alongside some exceptional athletes and friends who have taught me so much and been exemplary in their willingness to work hard and always find an opportunity to push their limits. Through all the ups and downs my experience here has been amazing and I can’t wait to give something back to this incredible club.

I’m excited to see what the next year has in store, and I hope to support, guide and inspire a strong work ethic in the girls towards achieving their goals and aspirations in the coming season!”

“My time at NUBC has been defined by setbacks. Tore my ACL. Herniated a disc. Spent another year on top of that battling injuries. But I still got back up and made a Henley final this year. This time has taught me what it feels like to doubt yourself but also the power of believing in yourself.

As men’s captain I want every athlete to believe where you start is not where you finish. I’ve been in almost every position in this squad and I know what it takes to keep moving forward.

This year is about believing in what we can achieve — individually and together. It is a privilege to be every athlete’s first point of call and to make sure no one feels left behind. I’m immensely proud to take on this responsibility and more excited to see what lies ahead.”

“Apparently one year wasn’t enough!!

Very very happy to be back as President for 26/27. Last year was a bit of everything and definitely taught me more than I expected, but I wouldn’t have wanted to do it anywhere else.

I’m so proud of this club, the people in it and everything we managed to do last season. I feel incredibly lucky to get another year with some of my favourite people and I’m really excited about what we can do this time round.

Can’t wait to get everyone back in Newcastle, back to training and back to the usual chaos.

Round two. Let’s have it!”

Henley Royal Regatta 2026 💙⭐️

This year, four out of five crews entered qualified for HRR. Two women’s eights, a men’s eight and a men’s coxed four went through to side by side racing.

The Wednesday saw the three eights racing.
The Men’s eight came up against UL in a gutsy race, which saw UL cross the line 1 1/2 lengths ahead of this crew.

The Women’s second eight came up against Oxford Brookes B, and also provided an exciting race. This crew pushed their opposition to the finish line, crossing it just one length behind them.

The Women’s First Eight faced Yale’s B crew, and crossed the line 3/4 of a length ahead of them, progressing them to the Thursday where they raced Washington’s A crew. In this race, Washington crossed the line 1 1/2 lengths ahead of the first eight.

The Coxed four progressed all the way to the final, the first time in five years a Prince Albert crew has made it to the final. Beating Durham University, Oxford Brookes, Oxford University and coming up against the winners, Imperial College London in the final, they demonstrated determination and strong racing throughout the week to progress.

Another impressive HRR campaign, and the end of the 2025/26 season. If you want to build on these results, get in touch via the recruitment instagram or via the form in our bio to contact us 👊
