Yoga with Kirstin

Yoga with Kirstin Start anything with taking a deep breath from there almost anything is possible In my understanding Yoga presents the union between mind, body, soul and nature.

It is about mindfulness in everyday life but most of all it is about fun and a feeling good in your body. Each practice results in a glow of wellbeing and feeling proud to have given this time to yourself. If you fall out of a pose it is good for a giggle and then try again. Life is way too short to be miserable. Yoga makes me happy and I would love to share this with you.

Its important to me that people know where I stand on principle.

Above all I’m honest and ethical - I will never take advantage of my patients

Secondly My whole focus is to dig deep and find the real reason why people are unwell. Im not symptom focussed.

Lastly - My plant medicines are perfect in their wholeness. They do not need human intervention to isolate chemicals and interpret why they work - nature knows best and I will always use the beauty and synergistic effect of herbal medicines. This is how they remain safe and available for all to use.

If you would like to work with me and find out more about Herbal and Functional Medicine - book a discovery call here.

Yesterday’s Kingsbarns Beach retreat became a lesson in adapting to the Scottish weather.

The original plan included a coastal walk, sauna, sea swim and yoga. With gale-force winds forecast, we made the sensible decision to shorten the retreat and concentrate on the sauna and swim.

It was still a wonderful experience. There was plenty of laughter and mutual encouragement as everyone made their way into the North Sea, followed by the welcome warmth of the sauna. Kingsbarns Beach provided a beautiful backdrop, complete with dramatic skies and several magnificent rainbows.

Thank you to everyone who joined us and accepted the change of plan with such good humour.

As we move into the winter months, future gatherings will be advertised and priced as sauna and swim experiences. When the weather permits, we will add a yoga session afterwards. Yoga will therefore be a weather-dependent addition rather than a guaranteed part of the programme.

Thank you to Gwen from , and .scot.

✨ TWO TUESDAY YOGA FLAVOURS IN CUPAR ✨

Because our bodies do not always want the same thing on a Tuesday…

🐢 17:45 at Chiropractic Cupar

We will be slowing everything right down — because slow movement has a rather inconvenient habit of revealing exactly where we are trying to cheat!

Expect mindful, controlled movement, a little strap-assisted balance work and some particularly loving attention for our shoulders and backs. We will explore everything within our own range, connecting mind, body and soul without rushing any of them.

🔥 19:15 at Health and Fitness Cupar

Later, we will turn the dial up slightly with a quicker-paced flowing class.

Our abdominals will be politely reminded that they have an important job to do, particularly when it comes to supporting a happy back. We will also investigate our obliques — those very useful muscles which occasionally pretend not to hear us.

It will be flowing, focused, slightly spicy and, as always, accompanied by the occasional moment when left and right become surprisingly complicated.

🌊 Kingsbarns Retreat

There are still a few spaces available for our retreat on Saturday 19 September, from 09:00 until 12:00, in beautiful Kingsbarns.

Three nourishing hours of yoga, Yoga Nidra, sauna and sea swimming or dipping — all for £40 per person.

🌀 And a question for the Kinstretch-curious…

Our two Monday morning Kinstretch classes attracted a small but excellent group. Unfortunately, there were not yet quite enough people to make the 09:00 until 10:00 slot sustainable.

However, I suspect there may be more stiff hips, reluctant shoulders and generally creaky corners out there!

If you would genuinely be interested in a regular Kinstretch class, please tell me:

🦴😂 YOUR JOINTS HAVE FILED A COMPLAINT.

Apparently, sitting too much, driving too much, working too much and then expecting them to perform perfectly when required is not considered adequate maintenance.

Who knew?

So, Monday morning we are giving them some attention.

KinStretch | Mondays | 9:00–10:00 a.m.
📍 Gauldry Village Hall
💷 £8 per person

We rotate things. We bend things. We investigate things. We discover that one hip has considerably stronger opinions than the other.

There will be Controlled Articular Rotations, mobility work, end-range control and strength — essentially teaching your joints to use the range they actually have rather than just flinging limbs about and hoping for the best.

You absolutely do not need to be flexible.

In fact, if putting your socks on has recently started resembling an advanced circus act, you may be exactly the person we are looking for. 😂

And, of course, our usual Flexibility Yoga is still on every Monday from 7:45–8:45 a.m., also at Gauldry Village Hall and also just £8.

Come to one. Come to both. Bring your stiff bits, your wobbly bits and the bits that make mysterious noises.

We shall see what we can do with them. 😁

Your body has to last you a lifetime. It is probably worth spending eight quid on it occasionally.
