Event #289

A lovely morning for a run in the park and six fabulous runners joined us.

We had two amazing personal bests, with George and Jack battling it out between themselves, encouraging each of them to run their fastest times. George knocked over three minutes off his previous PB, incredible running!

Emilia took her first Number 1 token, congratulations 🙌.

We welcomed Eric onto the volunteering team, with a quick registration on site. Thanks Eric, hope you enjoyed yourself.

We need a bare minimum of 13 volunteers a week to put the event on, thank you to those who stepped up today, we can’t do it without you. If anyone is interested in helping out we have various roles to choose from.

Well done to all of the runners today, we hope to see you again soon.

Who doth join us for the most juniorest of parkruns in the morning? 🙋🙋‍♀️

The Bayeux Tapestry has gone on display in the British Museum this week, returning "home" on loan after almost 1000 years as many scholars believe it was originally made in England by Anglo Saxon needle workers📜
The tapestry famously depicts the Battle of Hastings in 1066 ⚔️🏹 and is over 68 metres long 📏 You'd need almost 30 of them to stretch the length of a 2km junior parkrun ☺️

Some say that our start is sometimes like a medieval mêlée, with our juniors jostling for position 🤪 but everyone is sure of a historic time 🏃🏃🏼‍♀️🤸‍♀️🚶🏼🚶‍♀️

Join us just before 9am tomorrow for another epic event 🤗

Could you become a parkrun primary? 🤗

We hope the new school year has started well and the children are full of energy and enthusiasm 🤩

Last year was really successful for junior parkrun UK with so many primary schools across the UK signing up to be parkrun primarys 🤗

We held two fantastic events with our first parkrun primary school, St Joseph's Academy Boughton . It was great to see so many pupils and staff join us on our special event days and even more so to see many of them continue to join us week on week 🥳

We'd love for our local schools to join us and be part of our junior parkrun community 🙌

But it does mean we're a little short of volunteers, eek 😬
