Happy birthday to the woman who keeps the opposition out, helps keep the rest of us in order, and somehow still has the energy to get involved in absolutely EVERYTHING!

You are quite literally the organisation and order this club was looking for, an absolute athlete beyond your means, and a seriously reliable pair of hands between the sticks!

Always happy to lend a hand, help out wherever needed and get stuck into anything the club throws your way. You’re everyone’s friend, a brilliant teammate and an absolute asset to West Woking Women. We genuinely don’t know what we’d do without you (probably concede more goals and lose track of everything!).

We hope your birthday is filled with love, laughter and an unreasonable amount of dairy-free ice cream.

West Woking Women vs Beecholme Belles

What a performance from Tammy today.

Stepping into a brand-new position in centre midfield, Tammy didn’t just fill the role - she made it her own. She had a significant impact on the game, delivering some unreal crosses, linking up brilliantly with the team and battling for every ball.

You’d never have guessed it was a new position. She looked completely at home in there and played like she’d been doing it for years.

A brilliant, hardworking performance from start to finish and a thoroughly deserved Player of the Match.

Take a bow, Tammy.

West Woking women vs Beecholme Belles

Well, that was a game.

With Beecholme arriving with 10 players, we had enough players available but decided to start with 10 too, because apparently fair play is something we actually believe in.

The pitch was new territory for us and, quite frankly, had a few character-building features. Namely, holes. Lots of them. Actual holes.

It was a high-action game from the start, with both teams battling hard and neither side giving much away. Beecholme struck first to make it 1–0.

Woking were then awarded a penalty following a sliding tackle in the box. Unfortunately, the spot kick was missed, but we kept pushing and eventually found the back of the net to bring the game level.

Then came the moment nobody had planned for: one of our players lost a fight with a hole in the pitch and came off injured. We genuinely hadn’t realised pothole avoidance was going to be part of the match plan.

The final stages were anyone’s game. Woking had a late run through on goal with a chance to steal all three points, but in a fitting conclusion to the afternoon, the player managed to trip over her own feet.

Football, eh?

The final whistle brought an entertaining and hard-fought 1–1 draw, which was probably the fairest result after a game where both sides had chances to win it.

A great effort from everyone today. Ten players, plenty of action, one penalty miss, one pitch-related casualty, one accidental trip and a point apiece.

We’ll take that.

Small? Yes. Quiet? Usually. But don’t let that fool you, because there’s a fierce little bite hiding underneath.

Jas is our centre-mid, our crossing queen, and living proof that you don’t need to be big to make your presence felt. She’ll quietly go about her business, win the ball, pick out a ridiculous cross and then carry on like nothing happened.

What makes Jas so special, though, is just how much she genuinely loves football. Her passion for the game, her commitment and the joy she gets from being out there is infectious, and it’s a huge part of why we love having her as part of West Woking Women.

Here’s to another year of midfield magic, perfectly whipped crosses, winning challenges she probably had no business winning, and quietly causing absolute chaos.

The weekend saw some of the ladies head to Warwick for the world corporate games representing their previous tour company, level up! Though the other teams there were on another level, the ladies learned a lot and played til they could play no more! An experience for sure! Player of the tournament was a tough decision but there was one who stood out from the get go, Summer was unstoppable. She showed grit and determination and a need to prove herself, never backing down from a challenge and constantly making those runs. So proud of how far you have come..

Today we’re celebrating our newest recruit!

Caitlyn may be new to football, but you genuinely wouldn’t know it. Her work rate is unreal, she’s methodical in everything she does, stops the ball effortlessly and her positioning is already flawless.

She’s only at the beginning of her football journey, and that’s what makes it so exciting. We can’t wait to see how she develops, grows in confidence and discovers just how good she can become!
