The other week I had the absolute pleasure of hosting a work experience student, Lucie – the daughter of a close family friend – and what an incredible week it was. 💜
Lucie threw herself into every opportunity, stepping well outside of her comfort zone and giving everything a go. Standing up in front of different Pilates classes takes real courage, especially when it’s something completely new, but she embraced the challenge with such a positive attitude. She joined in with exercise classes she’d never experienced before, helped with admin, ordering, class planning, organising behind the scenes, and captured all of these wonderful photos you’ve seen here.
(And yes… that very unflattering close-up of me demonstrating the Dart exercise made the cut because Lucie found my wild hair absolutely hilarious! 🤪😂)
Together we even hosted Full Stretch Fitness’s very first outdoor Pilates class, which was such a brilliant experience. The only slight hiccup was that it happened to fall on Flying Ant Day… because apparently that’s the sort of thing you only discover after you’ve invited everyone outside! 🐜🤣 Thankfully, Flying Ant Day is only once a year, so August’s outdoor classes should be considerably less… airborne!
More than anything, I want to say how proud I am of Lucie. She showed kindness, enthusiasm, a fantastic work ethic and a real willingness to learn. She wasn’t afraid to try new things, ask questions, get involved and challenge herself, and that is something to be incredibly proud of.
Thank you, Lucie, for all of your hard work, your help, your laughter, and for making the week such an enjoyable one. I genuinely loved having you with me, and I hope you enjoyed seeing everything that goes into running Full Stretch Fitness as much as I enjoyed sharing it with you.
And if you swipe to the last photo, you’ll find the two of us together at the end of a brilliant week. 💜😊
