I had the most humbling conversation yesterday with a plasterer

It was a guy that attended some training with me last year

I had him in my calendar to follow up for a 12-month programme and he told me this …

“I’ve decided I don’t want the stress of growing a business, I know that if I did, you’d be the man to help me… but I’ve gone cards in and I love it”

I was disappointed at first, I honestly thought he’d be joining

He went on to tell me that he had found his peace, he didn’t want oodles of cash

Just the 9-5 and security of getting paid each week

And I get it

Fair play to him - massive respect 🔥❤️👍🏻

I am looking for a man ❤️

I did think hard before sharing this thought in today’s world

I have no intention of hurting anyone before I say what I’m about to say

I’ve done some solid searching lately and realised something important about myself

I’ve been trying to please everyone for so long I lost myself a bit in the process … never knowing whether tradesman is the right word

Tradespeople, tradie I tried them all I was always conflicted

But not because I’m sexist or not inclusive

What I realised is in my pursuit to try and please everyone I wasn’t speaking directly to people I want to help

And that’s tradesMEN

I’m not saying women can’t be in the industry, far from it, what I’m saying is that I want to work with men

Men that want more from life and business

I know and understand what most are going through or have been through

I can’t say that about women …

I’m now clear… I help the men in this industry who want to become better men, better businessmen, and better leaders

That’s all

I’ve made a very tough decision recently

I have to stop trying to show the trades the benefits of creating a business and getting off the tools

This didn’t come easy as I try my very best to do that but you know what …. it’s fu**in exhausting

The trolling, the s**t, the DMs, the mail … I’ve decided I’m changing

I’m getting on a bit now (50) and want to have a bigger impact on the industry

So my shift is coming

Moving forwards I’ll be sharing much more “further on in the built business process” stuff

I’m done trying to convince people that this is the way and want to work with founders that have already made th leap

And to become more efficient, more systemised and more structured

I’ll be sharing more content around leadership, growth, team building, hiring, forecasting that will be aimed at businesses that already value business

For now, I am off to regroup …

Love to all but it’s time for to step up into where I can have more of an impact with those are ready

This was never my intention - I genuinley only want whats best for you

I delivered my first "Off the Tools" workshop last night, which if you missed it and you want the recording of, drop me a DM and ill send it to you.

And for the many people that attended the session and interacted I wanted to say thank you

But getting this email this morning made me rewatch the session, it made me relook back through the campaign ive been running and it made me question EVERYTHING

Have I made out its an "overnight thing"?

Have I made out its "Easy"

Have I made out that this is "Quick fix"

I dont think I have, let me know if you disagree - if I have done that in any way - i am sorry.

So lets set the record straight - its not easy, its not overnight, its a transition.

The workshop last night went through that transition in full in just 1 hour - the 8 steps to take -

It takes now implementation or nothgin changes an that takes time...

Of course they don’t care like you do

Why would they? it’s your business not theirs

It’s a job for them - they’re not the same things

Rather than making a statement like this that keeps you stuck at £250k

As yourself “What standard can I set and help people to achieve that we can both agree is good?”

That will change the game for your business
