Double Success at Cimla! 🥋✨

What an absolutely spectacular night at our Cimla class! Two of our wonderful sisters stepped up to the mat for their Kihon Karate Wales gradings, and they completely blew us all away.

Luna’s Breakthrough: From Gentle to Powerful 🌟
First up to the mat was our lovely Luna, grading for her 8th Kyu Yellow Belt. Luna is the heart and soul of our class community—always bringing the brightest smiles, a joyful laugh, and a wonderfully gentle, sweet energy to training. But tonight, she showed us a whole new side to her martial arts journey!
When the grading started, Luna tapped into an incredible reservoir of focus, unleashing phenomenal power and strength through her basics and sparring. She channeled her energy beautifully and absolutely smashed her grading, earning a well-deserved First Class Pass! We are so incredibly proud of you, Luna!

Cheyenne’s Masterclass: Precision and Focus 🔥
Next up, grading in her own session, was Cheyenne, aiming for her 6th Kyu Green Belt. Having seen her sister’s success, Cheyenne stepped up to the challenge with that classic, healthy sibling rivalry that drives us all to be our best!
Cheyenne brings a beautifully focused, methodical, and stoic approach to her karate. She plays her cards close to her chest and lets her technique do the talking. Tonight, she gave a absolute masterclass in technical precision, demonstrating a fearless, calm, and deeply determined fighting mindset without even breaking a sweat. With a brilliant, no-nonsense performance, Cheyenne secured her own First Class Pass!

A Force to be Reckoned With! 💪

Together, these two sisters are an absolute dream team. They support each other, push each other, and tonight, they both showed everyone exactly what they are capable of.
A massive congratulations from all of us at Kihon Karate Wales. You can both stand tall and relax now, knowing you put on an awesome display of martial arts. Brilliant job, girls, Well done! 🎉🏆

🥇 THE NEW WELSH OPEN CHAMPION: SOFIA TAKES THE GOLD! 🥇

History was made on the mats today! Kihon Karate Wales bursts with absolute pride to announce that Sofia is officially the Welsh Open Champion in Kumite! 🏆🥋

This wasn't just a victory; it was a masterclass in pure dominance. Sofia fought her way to the very top of the podium with a jaw-dropping, flawless record: 6-0 in each round.
Not a single point conceded. Pure perfection.

💎 Class, Dignity, and Fierce Ex*****on
What makes Sofia so special isn't just the gold medal around her neck; it’s how she commands the arena. Sofia brings a rare, classy, and dignified style to the sport.
Outside the mat, she is focused and precise—she says what she means. But the moment she steps into the combat zone, she transforms, executing her techniques fiercely and with absolute conviction.

This historic win is the direct result of her unrelenting dedication to her training at Kihon Karate Wales. The hours of sweat, the emotional discipline, and the refusal to settle have officially paid off. She didn't just chase the Gold this time—she owned it.

To our new Champion, Sofia: Your instructors, your teammates, and the entire Kihon family appreciate your immense dedication more than words can say. You represent the very heart of our dojo’s values.
This is a monumental milestone, but we all know this is still just the beginning. There are massive things on the horizon for you, Sofia, and we cannot wait to watch you conquer them.
Congratulations, Sofia! Enjoy every second of this legendary achievement. You earned it girl! 🙏🔥

Late but Very Well Deserved!

We have a massive congratulations to pass on to one of our fantastic beginner karatekas!
Last week, Miss E officially graded and earned her brand-new Red Belt!

We know this announcement is a little bit late, but we wanted to make sure we got the wording just right. While we are keeping her full name private, we absolutely couldn’t let this achievement pass without giving her the recognition she deserves.

Miss E is already showing herself to be a brilliant little fighter with a fantastic natural talent for sparring. She trains incredibly hard, listens well, and has a very bright and prosperous karate journey ahead of her.

We are so proud of your hard work, Miss E! Keep training hard, and wear that new belt with pride.

Sensei 🙏

KIHON KARATE STUDENTS:

Important Dojo Notice: Training Safely in the Heat! ☀️

Hi everyone,

We are **keeping the dojo open today**, but as you all know, it is incredibly warm out there! To make sure everyone stays comfortable and safe during training, we are temporarily relaxing our dress code for tonight's sessions.

* **What to wear:**

Students are very welcome to wear **shorts and a t-shirt** instead of their full Gi.

* **What to bring:**

Please bring **extra refreshments**. A single water bottle might not cut it today—make sure you have plenty of fluids to keep you going throughout the session.

# # # Staying Responsible During the Heatwave

While we love the dedication of our students, training in high temperatures requires a bit of extra mindfulness and responsibility. Please keep the following in mind:

* **Listen to your body:**

The heat drains your energy much faster than usual. If you feel dizzy, lightheaded, or unusually fatigued at any point during class, **stop immediately** and let an instructor know. Pushing through the wall is great, but not when heat exhaustion is a risk!

* **Hydrate in advance:**
Don't just drink water *during* class. Start sipping water now so your body is fully hydrated before you even step onto the mat.

* **Look out for one another:**

We are a team. Keep an eye on your training partners today. If someone looks like they are struggling or overheating, speak up.
Let's look after ourselves and each other so we can get a great session in without any risks. See you all on the mat—stay cool!

SENSEI ROGER
