Well done Harrison!!

DEBUT

Yesterday’s match against Deveronvale saw a Highland League debut for young midfielder, Harrison Mackenzie.

Harrison has been involved with the First Team throughout pre-season, even scoring in the friendly win at Lossiemouth United and came on as a substitute yesterday at Station Park.

He has been with the club throughout his youth football career and started out back at Nairn Soccer 7s.

We are delighted to be working with Harrison and the many other talented young players in our youth teams and are looking forward to giving more of them the opportunity to represent their home club on the First Team stage.

🟡⚫️ NAIRN COUNTY U12s – INVERNESS CALEY THISTLE DEVELOPMENT HUB ⚫️🟡

On Saturday morning, our U12s travelled through to the Inverness Caley Thistle Development Hub, where we split the squad into two teams to give the boys plenty of game time and a chance to test themselves.

We played 7-a-side, with two 30-minute games and the teams swapping over.

🟡 COACH WILL’S TEAM

The boys were absolutely fantastic. 👏 They controlled a large parts of their first game, moving the ball really well with excellent passing, communication and movement, creating plenty of chances and goals.

The second game was a tougher test, with the opposition moving the ball well and making our boys work hard. There were still plenty of positives to take.

⚫ COACH GAVIN’S TEAM

Another fantastic performance. The boys dominated their first game but were unlucky not to score more, with the work and an excellent goalkeeper keeping the score down.

The second game saw the boys take more of their chances and put plenty of goals away.

There are a few areas we can take back into training, particularly scanning, decision-making, passing at the right time and man-marking.

Overall, a brilliant day of football. The attitude, effort and application from both teams were first class.

🟡⚫️ NCFC U14 Yellows v Rothes FC ‘13 ⚫️🟡

On Sunday we welcomed Rothes FC ‘13 for their final pre-season game on Sunday.

It was a game played with a wonderful spirit and the improvements have been clear to see from the Yellows.

The hard work put in during the summer is showing on the field, the commitment to challenges and passing plays have improved massively and it will remain our focus as we move in to the Moray Firth Youth League.

The boys have come together, trained hard and should be proud of themselves.

This season, both our U14 🟡Yellow and ⚫️Black teams are taking part in the Moray Firth Youth League, and the Scottish Cup.

We’re also working on creating a community development team that may be able to take part in a third event, but more on that as it develops.

🟡⚫️ NCFC Blacks v Strathspey Rovers ⚫️🟡

What a fantastic finale for U14 ⚫️ team preseason preparations.

The boys have worked incredibly hard, made great progress both on and off the pitch and they’ve gelled really well as a team.

We rounded off our preseason today with a trip to play Strathspey Rovers. The boys put in another excellent performance. There was strong defending, plenty of exciting attacking football and some great examples of the passing style we’ve been working on.

There’s still plenty to work on, but the progress has been really encouraging and the boys should be very proud of how far they’ve come in a short period of time.

Next up…the Moray Firth Youth League! Bring it on! ⚫️🟡⚫️

🟡⚫️ NCCFC U12s v Keith FC ⚫️🟡

Match Report

Our U12’s got off to a fantastic start with a great performance against Keith in a friendly match on Saturday. The game started off tight for the first 20mins with Keith’s players matching us in every department. As the game went on, our more experienced boys managed to take more control of the game.

It was a particularly encouraging performance given that this was the first time the 2015s/2016s had played together as a team. From the opening whistle, the boys showed great enthusiasm, worked hard for each other and produced some excellent football.

There were some fantastic goals throughout the game, with Finnley and Ruben both catching the eye with impressive finishes that were real highlights of the afternoon.

Lyall and Jackson also put in excellent performances, which was especially pleasing given that this was their first game in the academy set-up. Both settled into the team really well and showed plenty of promise.

A special mention must also go to Ethan in goals. He pulled off some good saves when called upon and looked composed throughout, particularly when playing out from the back and helping to start attacks with his passing.

Overall, it was a brilliant first outing for the U12s. A game like this makes the team happy, but the biggest positive was seeing the boys come together as a team, enjoy their football and show plenty of potential for the season ahead.

What a great start back to our Community football!

Our Players of the Week put in a great effort on a lovely Sunday morning at the Riverside.

Well done. Keep up the good work!

The Nairn County and Nairn County Community pathway is a core part of our structure and development culture.

This season sees the 2nd year of players joining the NCFC U18s who have been with us since the earliest days of the Soccer 7s. Last season was an early start for some of the boys. Not only are these guys making it as the Highland League U18 squad, they’re also cutting it training and playing with the 1st team - Harrison has already scored for the 1st team and was on the bench for Saturday’s trip to Fraserburgh.

Everyone’s pathway is different. Opportunities will come for players to work with teams like Ross County, Inverness Caley Thistle, Elgin City, and St Ninian’s Women’s Football which is testament to how hard some of the players have worked over the years.

Across the pathway, the Nairn County FC U16s are looking forward to the new season whilst the U14s are fielding 2 teams for the second season in the MFYL. We’ll be fielding an U12s in the MFYL and taking part in the SYFA festivals throughout the school term through our U10s and U8s.

It’s not only the players who are following their own pathway. Our coaches continue to develop, and feature across all of the age groups from U6 to U18. Why not get involved?
