Hole 1 — Sea

Nairn begins as it means to go on: beside the Moray Firth.

Playing 417 yards from the back tees, this opening par four heads west with the shoreline running along the right. Fairway bunkers shape the drive before an inviting approach to a green guarded at the front.

The green was rebuilt by Mackenzie & Ebert in 2019, raised and moved closer to the coastline to introduce more contour and provide views along the beach.

With the option to use the firm links ground on the approach, Sea is a welcoming introduction in calm conditions, and a very different proposition when the coastal wind begins to blow.

Congratulations to our good friends at Royal Dornoch on being selected to host the 2028 Curtis Cup - another great chapter for one of the game’s most storied links, and a proud moment for golf across the Highlands.

Congratulations to Brian Smith from Watersound, Florida, who achieved his first-ever hole-in-one on the 14th hole!

A fantastic milestone, made even more memorable while playing alongside member Chuck Miller.

Well done, Brian! 👏

A remarkable few days for holes in one at Nairn. 🏌️‍♂️✨

Not one, not two, but

**four aces in just a two days**!

Scott Lawrie and Els Van Eijck both recorded holes in one on the 6th hole, before Andy Burgess completed the hat-trick with an ace on the 1st of the Cameron Course.

Then on Sunday, Phillip Compeau added another memorable moment with a hole in one on the 11th, using a pitching wedge.

Congratulations to all four players on a fantastic achievement at Nairn. 👏

The 14th hole at Nairn, Kopjes, takes its name from the South African term for a small, isolated hill.

It is anything but straightforward. A pronounced gully bisects the putting surface, turning a well-struck approach into a true test of precision. Find the wrong section and you’ll be faced with one of the most memorable putts on the course. If there’s a hole that defines Nairn, this might just be it.
