NO RETIREMENT AFTER LA OLYMPICS… TADEJ POGAČAR MOST LIKELY TO EXTEND HIS CONTRACT

Alex Carera confirmed to Daniel Benson that he would meet with team president Matar Suhail Al Yabhouni Al Dhaheri and manager Mauro Gianetti on Friday to negotiate a contract extension until 2031.

But they won’t talk just about a contract extension. The negotiations reportedly also include things like private jet travel to races, performance bonuses, race schedules and other conditions surrounding Pogačar’s future with the team.

Alex Carera: “Tadej is happy, but there are some points, and it’s not about money. We want to talk about some special clauses, and we’ll talk face-to-face, not on the phone, ahead of the Vuelta. The meeting is in Monaco, on Friday morning, but we will all take our time, maybe a month, as it’s not a standard contract.”
