The Rovers faced in the opening match of the Lanarkshire Mental Health 8's League

Great game played in great spirit

2 good teams playing 2 totally different styles.
Rovers continued with their high press & possession based football.
PZKS went more compact make it hard to get in behind & hit us on the counter.

Some amazing football at times by the Rovers with little give & go’s in the final 3rd.
Weddy was on fire & constantly causing havoc.
A wee Hat trick for Weddy & with that picks up managers player of the match. ⚽️
Chris O even found himself in space in the box as he calmly megged the goalkeeper. Chris had to go off just after this for a nose bleed 👀
Robbie started on the bench & played like a man that had something to prove…. And he did- banging in a couple 🙌🏽

To a man - everyone was excellent.

The champions finished of their league campaign with a re-arranged game v wishaw at Ravenscraig on Thursday night in the .

Rovers started the game well enough & if it wasn’t for the goalkeeper we could’ve been 2 or 3 up. But it wasn’t to be & as we found ourselves trying to force it-we left ourselves exposed to the counter attack & got punished for it.

Think it was 4- nil at half time.

A change a half time saw us continue to press & have all the ball but very little room to open wishaw up. The game was stop start with constant fouls. The Wishaw yellow armband was top class tbf & keep causing us problems on the break with his pace & power. His closing us down was also exceptional.
Porter in the heart of defence was also decent. Upfront they had Daniel who had an excellent game.

We kept prodding away. Weddy got a couple back as he tried his hardest to lift us. Robbie sent a great cross in to the box the Rhino put enough pressure on Porter to get him to panic & turn it in to his own net. But as the game went on- the hangover from all the champagne last Sunday took its toll. We ran out of ideas & steam but fortunately for us….. it was well & truly past the finished line 😉🏆
