We were happy to support the ladies triples team at Inverleith Petanque Club where they were raising funds for their trip to Greece this year. Fun competition, and our very own Wolfram & Hart were in the lead after 3 rounds of swiss with a points difference of +24. The afternoon saw the team lose 2 games to some fantastic players, and sadly drop out of the top places.

What a weekend for Moffat Pétanque Club!!
Huge congratulations to Sue Macauley who, along with fellow Cowbags Mags Montgomery and Hilda Inverarity were placed 2nd in the Women's Scottish National Triples. And an even huger congrats to Wolfram & Hart aka John Jardine, Clint Smith, and Ryan Walker who stormed home into first place in the Men's Scottish National Triples.

At the conclusion of the Dumfries & Galloway Challenge Cup, Solway Petanque Club take the trophy home with 6 wins over Moffats' 5. Congratulations Solway, well deserved! And many thanks for your hospitality from all at Moffat.

Today Moffat are travelling to Solway Petanque Club for the annual Dumfries & Galloway Challenge Cup. Perhaps the last year it will be contested by just 2 clubs? Fingers crossed we'll see one or two more next year!
Moffat are the current holders of the cup, good luck to the team attending today, play well, and let's get that cup back in Moffat this evening!

Support our new neighbours this month by joining them for their first come and play day, followed by an open day later in September. This new club is at junction 16 on the M74, just 10 minutes south of Moffat. Good luck Johnstonebridge Pétanque Club!

Huge congratulations to Jim Crombie and Elaine Crombie of Moffat PC for qualifying as Scotland 2 for next year's Celtic Challenge competition in Wales.
Congrats also go to their team mate Jonny Crombie.

Moffat PC Doubles today, and what a lovely day for it! 6 doubles teams turned up, and the final was a real nail-biter! Lin Metelica Worthy and Allan Parkinson pipped Ryan Walker and Clint Smith to first place 13:12 while John Jardine and Sue Macauley won the battle of Osborne Row against Yvonne Jack and David for third place. Well done everyone, brilliant day with loads of camaraderie x

Many thanks to Rusty Baws for visiting us at Moffat this evening. What a great service, it was so interesting to discuss our various requirements and discover something new to think about. We ranged from complete newbies thinking of buying a first set of boules to more experienced players looking for a boule that suits their team position (pointer/shooter). They even had to deal with recommendations for someone with hypermobile joints.
Well done Em and Mattie, we thoroughly recommend your service to everyone!
