🏏💚🦢 MCC Final Weekend Round-Up 🦢💚🏏
Mistley brought the curtain down on the 2026 season with one victory, two defeats and an abandoned match — with no shortage of drama along the way.
The 1st XI were bowled out for 95 at Wivenhoe, with the hosts reaching 97 without loss to secure a ten-wicket victory. Back-to-back wins during the run-in provided real hope, but sadly they weren’t enough to avoid relegation to Division Two.
The 2nd XI recorded our only victory of the weekend in a crucial match against Mildenhall CC. After dismissing the visitors for 134, Mistley completed an excellent six-wicket win. Unfortunately, despite that result, the side narrowly missed out on survival and will play in Division Five next season.
The 3rd XI hosted Halstead at New Road. The visitors posted 273/6 before bowling Mistley out for 151 to complete a 122-run victory. Eight wins from 18 matches represents a respectable effort in a season where player availability and selection proved to be our biggest challenges. Unfortunately, the side will be playing in Division Nine next year.
Sunday’s Division C match against Abberton was reduced to a T20 due to a very wet outfield and the threat of further rain. Only eight balls were possible before another heavy downpour forced the match to be abandoned. The six points each, combined with results elsewhere, meant the side finished fourth.
