Looking for a fun way to introduce your child to badminton?

We’re opening new Shuttle Stars classes for children aged 5–11 who are beginners or relatively new to the sport.

Whether they’ve never picked up a racket before or already have a little playing experience, Shuttle Stars is a fantastic place to start — learning new skills, making friends, building confidence and having fun! 🌟

A huge congratulations to all of our medal winners! 🏆 We are really pleased with the results across the weekend and it’s great to see the hard work in training continuing to show in competition.

We also want to congratulate every MKBA player who stepped onto court and fought for medals this weekend. Not every tournament ends with a medal around your neck, but every match is an opportunity to learn, improve and come back stronger. 💪

What a fantastic start to their badminton journey these young players have had! ❤️
Our MKBA Shuttle Stars are now working their way through Stage 5 of the Shuttle Stars programme after 18 months of training and are already looking forward to graduating at the end of this year. 🎓🏸

But their journey won't stop there. 🚀🌠

Over the coming months, they'll also start getting the opportunity to compete locally against other Shuttle Stars players from clubs across Milton Keynes, putting their new skills into practice, meeting other young players and experiencing the excitement of badminton competition. 🏆

Shuttle Stars is Badminton England 's flagship junior programme, designed to give children a fun and engaging introduction to our fantastic sport, and it has gone extremely well at MKBA.

And the programme continues to grow, with 40 new young players joining MKBA Shuttle Stars this September! 🌟🏸

We've watched this group develop their racket skills, movement and coordination, but just as importantly we've seen friendships develop, confidence grow and a real enthusiasm for badminton emerge.

That is what Shuttle Stars is all about. 🌟

We are incredibly proud of how far our Shuttle Stars have already come, and we can't wait to see where their badminton journeys take them next.

Another fantastic night of competition at the MKBA Summer Cup! This time it’s our Discovery Squad who put on an exciting display of commitment , dedication and loads of laughter as well. Congratulations to all players and a massive thank you to the parents for their continued trust and commitment. Well done Rishaan and Vienna for winning the Summer Cup and well done to Christina for becoming player of the month.🥇

Our Shuttle Stars Summer Cup ! There was plenty of fun, lots of competition and, most importantly, every player gave their very best. Seeing the smiles, determination and sportsmanship on display reminded us exactly what MKBA is all about. Central Sports

As we head into our summer break, it’s important to recognise the progress every single player has made this season. And when I say every player, I genuinely mean everyone—from our youngest Shuttle Stars taking their first steps on court to those competing in our Performance squads.

Over the coming days, our coaches will be hand-writing every MKBA DRIVE Report. It’s something we take great pride in. In a world of copy-and-paste feedback and AI-generated reports, we still believe there is something special about taking the time to write personal feedback for every player.

Each report is designed to celebrate progress, reinforce our DRIVE DNA, provide honest and constructive feedback, set clear goals for the months ahead, and remind every player just how proud we are of the effort they’ve put in this season.

Improvement isn’t always measured by medals or rankings. Sometimes it’s about confidence, resilience, work ethic, being a better teammate, or mastering a skill that once seemed impossible. Every step forward matters, and every player deserves to have that recognised.

A huge thank you to all of our players, parents and coaches for another fantastic season. We hope everyone enjoys a well-earned summer break, and we can’t wait to see you all back on court, ready to keep pushing your potential.
