As of 30/06/2026, sound moderators have officially been declassified from Section 1 fi***rm controls.

This brings some important changes to how we can now process moderator sales.

Here’s a quick breakdown of what has changed, what hasn’t, and what you need to know when purchasing a moderator from us.

🔹 What’s Changed for You

No variation required
You no longer need an open “slot” on your Fi***rm Certificate (FAC) or Sh***un Certificate (SGC) to purchase a sound moderator.

No certificate endorsement
We will no longer enter moderators onto your physical paper certificate.

🔹 What Hasn’t Changed

You must still hold a valid FAC or SGC
It remains a criminal offence to possess a sound moderator without a valid certificate. We are legally required to verify your certificate before dispatch.

Secure storage requirements remain in place
As a Registered Fi***rms Dealer (RFD), we remain bound by the Home Office Fi***rms Security Handbook. All moderators continue to be stored in approved safes or secure monitored storage.

Record keeping still applies
We continue to maintain accurate acquisition and disposal records to ensure full audit trails, in line with current compliance requirements.
