Neyland Judo Club is a small, family run judo club and. The year 2018 marked its 50th anniversary since the club started.

Also this weekend, 4 players competed in the British Kata Championships, a first for players from NJC. Cam and Isla, fresh from their success at the Welsh Kata Championships, performed a crisp and measured Nageno Kata and in the face of strong opposition, earned themselves an excellent silver medal. Damon and Mike competed in both Kimeno Kata and Itsutsu Kata, 2 strong performances in both categories among strong fields of experienced players saw them earn a well deserved bronze medal. Well done team, NJC is strong in all aspects of judo. Proud club and coaches as always.

What a fantastic weekend for our club! On Saturday, 8 players competed in the Welsh closed championships in Cardiff. 1st up, Betty battled through 3 tough contests, winning 2, taking the gold medal. Austin made a storming start winning his 1st contest then narrowly losing his next contests, coming away with a hard earned silver medal. Noah was up next putting in a player of the day performance, producing some huge ippons to take the gold medal. Last of the juniors, Isla faced 3 tough contests, growing in confidence with every fight she came away with a brilliant silver medal.
In the seniors and veteran categories, Barry and Dustin attacked opposite sides of the draw, securing some excellent wins each. Barry earned 5th while Dustin came away with a bronze medal. Karl fought valiantly in both senior and veteran categories against some very experienced and high graded opponents. Lots of experience gained and a well earned bronze medal. Rounding off the team performance, Ria stormed her way through senior and veteran categories taking gold in both! What an outing for our club, 8 players, 4 golds, 2 silvers and 2 bronze, NJC 5th in the overall medal table. Congratulations to all players who competed, you did yourselves and your club proud, the coaching team are very proud of you all.

Today, Team Krushem took a jolly up to Llanelli to compete in the Welsh National Kata Championships!
A first for both pairs, who have been working incredibly hard in the lead up to this event, and a successful day was had!
A massive congratulations to our Commander in Chief Damon and Mikey as they earned a Bronze medal in the Nage-No-Kata AND Itsutsu-No-Kata! 🥉
A huge congratulations to Camaron and Isla who earned a Gold medal in the Junior Nage-No-Kata, making them Welsh National Champions!
A big thank you to the officials for their efforts and Sanshirokwai Dojo for hosting the event!
