Linthorpe came flying it the traps today and it’s been a long time since this happened, playing some lovely football and finally getting the break through on the 14th minute when Adam stole the ball of the goal keeper and calmly slotted it away 👏1-0

The lead didn’t last long when we gave the ball away in a dangerous area of the pitch and Northallerton punished us with a lucky deflection falling just right for the striker to poke home 1-1 Northallerton loved the long ball but this time they didn’t need it 🤦‍♂️

We continued to impress with some absolutely quality play and were very unlucky not to go into half time in the lead, Northallerton had there keeper to thank when Aiden hit a half volley towards the top corner and he tipped it over to keep it 1-1 both sides having a few chances but the Linthorpe back line was outstanding catching Northallerton off side on numerous occasions

The second half kicked back off and there wasn’t a lot to separate the two sides in the game, couple of substitutes made by Linthorpe and we looked to be back in control. Linthorpe had a free kick on the half way line and Terry delivered an unbelievable ball into the box where big Finley was bundled over …..penalty, up steps Danny Malcolm to smash it into the top corner 👏2-1 linny

We were knocking on the door trying to pull away further but there keeper was on top form and made a hand full of outstanding saves to keep his side in the game

The game become abit sloppy and Northallerton hit us on the counter attack from an attacking corner and made it 2-2 very dubious offside not giving (shock)

Full time

The standard of refereeing today was shocking, linesman was dreadful and the man in the middle was useless but we need to learn to over come the opposition having 12 men 😂🤦‍♂️

Few mentions today-JJ absolutely solid in goal again for us and distribution was quality, Olly absolutely terrorising his full back that next goal isn’t far away mate ⚽️ and it was nice to see Deacon back to near his best creating chances,breaking up play and winning fouls outstanding 👍

Motm-Lewis dyball played the full 90 minutes injured but like a true captain/leader continued on for the team 🔵 solid performance from you mate absolute brick wall today and never lost 1 dual the whole game ⚽️

We are back in league action this Saturday when we take on Northallerton Town Reserves ⚽️ both sides have started there premier division campaign very well so this should be a cracking watch 👀 we go into the game with a few missing from previous weeks but it gives us a chance to utilise the squad 👏 the lads know what is expected of them and the standards don’t drop 👍

We’ve been abit quiet with not having a game this weekend, so we’d thought we’d give use August player of the month 🤝🤝🤝

Linthorpe 2 - Thirsk Falcons 2

An absolute cracking game of football in sunny Middlesbrough today⚽️⚽️

The boys were went out with a clear messaged today (Start Fast)…. That didn’t happen Thirsk came out the blocks flying and scored an off side goal (lineman had a stinker) inside 5 minutes 🤦‍♂️ an early injury saw Lewis H***e come off on the 9th minute disrupting our system. 0-1

Thirsk dominated the first 20/25 minutes and pulled 2 goals ahead on the 21st minute, it seemed a long way back for the boys from here. 0-2

24 minutes in and Billy Harland holds the ball up brilliantly and then plays Adam clear through on goal 1-2

We started to play football from that point and the game became end to end with thirsk coming close to grabbing a 3rd, we win a free kick just inside the Thirsk half and up steps Billy Harland floating a ball over to Billy Hatfield who is shoved in the back …. Penalty Danny Malcolm steps up and puts it into the corner of the net 2-2

Half time

The lads were sent back out with clear instructions and it worked to a tea, we dominated the second half and limiting Thirsk to hitting us on the counter now and then but no clear chances

The last 20 minutes was attacker vs defence and we could have easily scored 3/4 in this period but the Thirsk back line stayed resilient.

Last kick of the game and we should of possibly won it but it wasn’t meant to be, an absolute tremendous game for any spectator to watch 👏

Couple of mentioned today Aiden Lucas winning every dual he had and drove the team forward and Finley Watson an absolute menace at the back again

Motm- Jack Heath this lad has deserved this after just missing out on the starting 11 a couple of times but when he’s called upon he’s absolutely solid, a great performance especially getting a early yellow card but didn’t give his opponent a sniff all game 🔵
