Our Pickleball players took part in the Leicestershire & Rutland County Championships this weekend, playing in the Mens doubles, Ladies doubles and mixed doubles. A very long day of pickleball starting at 7am in Hinckley!
The Hamilton is the place to be for pickleball in the Melton area - come along and join us!

Mixed doubles last night saw all of the courts full . Lots of tennis was played in the first rounds resulting in semi finals to be played :
Penny and Will v Emily and Stuart
Sue and Ciaran v Margaret R. and Tim.
Time ran out on us so these will be played on another evening along with the final.
Thank you to everyone who has played, supported, helped with the organisation , and baked cakes this week.
There is lots more tennis to come, plus the Presentation of Trophies Evening on 16th. October to which you and your guests are invited.

Men’s singles was once again a rainy affair but the boys pressed on regardless, a special mention to Barry who carried on after a nasty fall.
Apologies, there is no photo due to the wet conditions.
All of the first round matches were completed but the semi finals were deferred to another night when the final will possibly also be played.
The semi finals will be:
Ciaran v Will
Simon v Graham
Well done to Stephen and Rory,third placed in their respective groups , who both won 2 sets.
Lots of entrants for mixed doubles tonight, if you aren’t playing why not come and watch?The weather forecast looks better and I hear there will be cake again .😊

Ladies Doubles Championships last night with 8 couples competing. Some first round matches produced clear winners but a couple were close and hard fought, namely Bridget and Steph v Gillian and Chrissy and Chris and Nicky v Jo and Jan.
The semi finals were:
Penny and Emily v Sue and Katie 6 - 0
Margaret R. and Rosie v
Margaret S. and Margaret H. 6 - 1
So the final will be between Penny and Emily and Margaret R. and Rosie , proposed time 6.30 pm Tuesday 15th. September TBC.
More cake thanks to Sue and Katie , a lovely sociable evening, sorry about the noise from the sidelines on occasion !!

8 couples competed in men’s doubles last night and spectators were treated to some great tennis.First rounds resulted in semi finals :
Will and Simon v Graham and Tim 6 - 3
Billy and Ciaran v Edwin and Bruce 7 - 5.
Thank you to Billy, Ciaran, Edwin and Bruce for a late evening cliffhanger which had their supporters cheering!
The final will be between Will and Simon and
Billy and Ciaran , date to be announced.
