Active Dales

Active Dales Keeping the Derbyshire Dales active. Our aim is to create a more vibrant and healthy place to live and work.

This is achieved by providing local opportunities for people to get active, get healthy and get involved thus increasing participation in getting started, staying and succeeding in sport, and physical activity. The provision of a diverse range of accessible sport, health and recreational activities and services helps to achieve this. Our aims are to :

- Increase participation in sport and physica

l activity for children, young people, adults and older people to create safer, stronger, healthier communities
- Develop a club / group network which provides quality and accessible sport and physical activity
- To promote / develop and sustain a quality, enthusiastic workforce
- To manage and develop existing and new or improved facilities

We work with a wide range of partners from the voluntary, public and private and community sector to provide a broad and diverse range of services. The aim is to widen opportunities for people living and working in the Derbyshire Dales to become more active, and by doing so, to improve their health, well-being and quality of life.

Our 6-week Junior Pickleball Programme starts this Thursday, and there are still a few spaces available!

Whether you're looking to try something new, improve your racket skills, or simply have fun and stay active, pickleball is the perfect sport for young people to get involved in.

We are recruiting a Move More Coordinator to join our Active Dales team. This role will be out in the community delivering sports and activities to all ages and abilities. Working with different groups from the inactive, people with long term conditions or disabilities, women and girls, youth diversionary, events and festivals, and sports specific programmes e.g. Tennis & Pickleball.

Salary: Grade 5 £25,989 - £27,254pa (pro rata £15,593.40 to £16,352.40)
Part Time - 22.2 hrs per week (3 days) Tuesday - Thursday
Permanent

Junior Pickleball Beginner Course starts 17th September at ARC Leisure Centre Matlock. Pickleball is a mash up of tennis, table tennis and badminton. It is one of the fastest growing sports in the world and is played on a badminton sized court.
