💛🎶 BOOGIE 4 YOUR BONES! 🎶💛

These photos sum up exactly why we LOVE delivering our Boogie 4 Your Bones programme. Just look at those smiles! 🥹
Movement, music, singing, stretching, mobilising… but also laughter, conversation, memories and connection. Sometimes we’re dancing, sometimes we’re singing at the tops of our voices and sometimes we’re simply having a good old giggle together! 💃🕺

We currently take B4YB into care homes across Barmby Moor, Pocklington, Driffield and Kexby, and we’ve also delivered special themed sessions for care homes in York.

It’s a programme we’re incredibly proud of and one we’d LOVE to take into even more care settings across East Yorkshire and beyond. 💛

💛✨ They’re always watching… ✨💛

There’s something really special about moments like this.

Our littlest dancers look up to our senior students, watching them dance, listening to them, copying them and thinking, “One day, I want to do that too.” 🥹
But the lovely part? Those seniors were once the little ones in the yellow leotards. They were once learning their first steps, finding their confidence and looking up to the older students themselves.

Now they’re the ones holding little hands, encouraging the next generation and becoming the role models they once looked up to. 🌟

It’s one of our favourite things about having students grow up through Starbrite. It’s so much more than progressing through grades and learning new steps, it’s about belonging, growing up together and eventually giving something back to the little dancers following in your footsteps. 💛

And who knows… one day, one of these little yellow dancers might be the senior holding someone else’s hand. 🥹✨

💛✨ TEAM TUESDAY ✨💛

What you see in the studio each week is only a small part of what goes into delivering a Starbrite class.

The week before term began, our teaching team sat down together for three hours to go through lesson plans, material, music, ideas and progression for the term ahead. Then last week, we got back together, this time on the studio floor, to dance through, workshop and actively deliver those plans to each other. 💃🕺

Why? Because consistency in delivery is key to Starbrite. 🌟
Our classes and curriculums are planned and written in-house, and we want every member of our team to understand not only what we are teaching, but how and why we are teaching it. It means we can share ideas, challenge each other, make adjustments and ensure our students receive the same high standard of teaching across the school.

There are hours of planning, preparation, discussion and practical training behind the classes you see on the timetable each week, but we wouldn't have it any other way. 💛

Because great classes don't just happen when the studio doors open. They're built behind the scenes by a team who care about getting it right.
And that's a pretty good reason to celebrate our team this Tuesday. 🥰🌟

Our class warm-up this week has been all about miming our fabulous summer memories! ☀️😂

And honestly… the imagination was ON FIRE! 🔥

This class had Miss Nicola:
🐕 Walking dogs
🌊 Fighting seagulls
🏄‍♀️ Surfing
🚲 Riding a bike
🍫 Sneaking chocolate 🤭

Who needs a holiday slideshow when you can just act it all out?! 😂

So lovely to have these smiling faces back in class — and I think we can safely say they’re ready for another fantastic term! 🫶✨

Diving into a Star Performer class with Miss Alys! ⭐️🎭

This week we’ve been exploring freeze frames, mime, vocal sound effects and lots of fun emotions! Students have been developing their storytelling, character-building, teamwork and performing skills in a completely different way.

After sharing what they got up to over the summer through our drama postcards, we’ve continued working on our Icons & Legends routines from Annie, Oliver! and Aladdin. 🎶✨

Lots of creativity, confidence, laughter and, of course, plenty of drama! 🎭💫

Sometimes you just need a routine that gets you BACK IN THE ROOM. 🔥💃

No overthinking. No pressure. Just great music, big movement, lots of energy and that brilliant feeling of dancing together again.

This week’s DanceFusion was all about getting back into the swing of things… and judging by the energy in this room, I think we understood the assignment. 😂🔥
