A testing weekend in Scotland for Ben Mustoe and ASA United GASGAS at Round 7 of the British Motocross Championship, with Ben showing front-running pace throughout the day aboard his GASGAS MC 250F.

Qualifying got the weekend off to a positive start, with Ben securing 4th gate pick, his best qualifying result of the season and putting himself in a strong position heading into the motos.

In Race One, Ben had a great jump from out of the gate and quickly established himself inside the top five, battling at the sharp end of the field. With the leading group remaining closely matched for much of the race, Ben worked his way into 4th and began setting his sights on Tommy Searle in 3rd.

Unfortunately, a small crash late in the moto cost him several positions, leaving Ben to regroup and bring it home in 7th place.

Race Two, another strong start put Ben right back amongst the front runners in race two. After positions chopped and changed during the opening laps, he settled into 4th and spent much of the moto chasing down the leading group, with very little separating the pace of the riders at the front.

Ben continued to push right through to the closing stages, making a late move on Charlie Heyman to take 3rd place at the chequered flag and round out the weekend with another strong performance.

The 7-3 scorecard gave Ben 5th overall, narrowly missing out on an overall podium after the small mistake in race one.

Plenty of positives to take from Duns, with a season-best qualifying performance and the speed to fight at the front in both motos.

We now turn our attention to the final round of the British Motocross Championship at Blaxhall in September. As a local round for the team, we’re looking forward to welcoming plenty of friends, family and sponsors trackside to close out the season.

Returning to ASA United GASGAS’ local British Championship venue for Round 6, Canada Heights, and it was certainly a warm one.

Spectators turned out in force, and the racing delivered exactly what they came for... fast, nail-biting action on a track that remains a favourite for many riders, including our own Ben Mustoe.

Ben started the day strongly in qualifying, securing 7th gate pick for race one – a solid platform to build on.

In race one, a good start placed Ben inside the top five, allowing him to apply early pressure in the chase for fourth. By the halfway point he made the move and settled into a controlled ride to the finish, with the leading trio having already created a gap from the rest of the field.

Race two produced one of the standout MX2 battles of the season so far, with a group of young riders pushing hard at the front. Ben launched well from the gate and quickly established himself in second, holding the position for six laps while managing pressure from behind and keeping leader Billy Askew within reach. A small crash at the midpoint dropped him to sixth, but he remounted quickly and fought back to fifth by the flag – securing a 4–5 scorecard and fifth overall on the day.

Attention now turns to the British GP at Foxhills this weekend, where Ben will once again line up in the MX2 class aboard his MC250F against the world’s best.

Racing will always give you the highs and lows in equal measure, and over the past few weeks we’ve lived both. After the MX2 overall win at Landrake and two points‑scoring rides on the world stage in Germany, both the team and Ben Mustoe arrived at Monster Mountain riding a real wave of momentum.

But, motocross has a way of reminding you how quickly things can change.

Despite a strong 4th in qualifying, a crash in Race 1 left Ben carrying damage that would affect him for the rest of the day. He was ultimately forced to retire from both motos, leaving Round 5 with no points, a harsh reality check on how fast a championship challenge can slip away.

Ben has since been to hospital and has suffered minor organ damage. With rest and recovery, we’re hopeful he’ll be back on the bike soon.

We’re fully aware that our title hunt may have passed us by, but we are determined to regroup, reset, and come back fighting at the sharp end of the MX2 field for the remaining rounds.

Huge moment for Ben Mustoe and ASA United GASGAS as our young pilot lined up for his first MX2 World Championship races in Teutschenthal, Germany last weekend. Fighting hard across both motos, bringing home 17th and 18th and securing two point-scoring rides on his first outing on the world stage. A great learning weekend, more confidence on the bike, and another step in the right direction for Ben!

Ben Mustoe secures his first British Championship MX2 overall victory!

A superb showing from our young MC250f pilot in both motos; a real demonstration of speed, consistency and potential. We came into Landrake with a subtle confidence following Ben’s race win there in 2025 – of course, it’s no secret that the circuit is one of his favourites on the calendar, making this overall even more special with family and friends present to witness it.

In both races Ben was able to quickly establish himself at the sharp end of the pack. Two solid jumps out of the gate and some hard charges put us in with a fighting chance. In race one, Charlie Heyman was able to maintain a decent gap, securing the race win as Ben crossed the line in second. In race two, Ben found himself chasing down the #441 of Billy Askew, who led the pack up until the red flag.

A staggered start and a little over half of the race left to go fed the anticipation as Ben chipped the laps away, drawing in the race leader as Tommy Searle mounted a late charge in third. With just laps to go, Ben was able to make the pass and fight his way to the chequered flag, snatching the race win and claiming his first professional overall victory.

An exemplary display, a roller coaster of emotions, and a result well deserved.
